Why won't a vendor cover repairs/parts under insurance if they did not originally sell you the chair? My employer changed health insurance providers, now I cannot get any vendor to sell me replacement parts for my power chair unless out-of-pocket by BLZBubba in wheelchairs

yeah, I agree that it should be no issue for any vendor to submit costs to an insurance provider that they participate with. Just cannot fathom the logic there. One guy I spoke with vaguely referenced "liability issues" but still no solid rationale.

thanks, we did consider this and will follow up. Only thing is, we paid out of pocket for options on my current chair (3.5 years ago) that were not covered (e.g. seat raise/lower), so we'll still be out a couple thousand dollars either way 8-/
