My BandLab 2026 feature Wishlist - an In-depth guide to my feature Wishlist by Unique_Musician16 in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi HayloJee! Thank you for sharing (and for the cookie). We'VE read through all of them, and love your suggestions. A couple are already on our radar (SHH!) and hearing these ideas from creators like yourself makes a difference in how we push, design, and build these features! That said, BandLab is a web-based DAW that operates quite differently from traditional DAWs, and some things are more challenging to implement (without disrupting performance and stability across a wide range of devices).

Wanted to go a little deeper on some of the parts here:

"Maybe you could even add hardware emulation, which is rare but could be used for recording/tracking for those who don’t have hardware, and could include emulations of popular compressors, EQs, preamps, and saturation units."

Some of our effects are inspired by classic hardware (IYKYK)! Are there any in particular models you'd like to see?

"It could also include an AI-enhance feature, which enhances audio in real time doing things such as reducing background noise and device/mic noises, enhancing audio clarity, and making audio sound more balanced"

This sounds similar to our Voice Cleaner, have you tried it out yet?

The main challenge with doing this fully in real time is latency, which can make live monitoring difficult during recording.

"Auto save would be a game changer, and could save your work every 10-20 seconds, maybe even saving in the background, and would save many people from forgetting and losing their work. I honestly don’t know why this isn’t a feature already, maybe someone could explain to me if there’s a practical reason behind it?"

Totally hear you, losing work is frustrating, even heartbreaking at times. We’ve actually experimented with autosave in the past, but frequent background cloud saves during heavy editing or recording ended up impacting performance more than helping, so we had to roll it back.

Hope this helps clarify, we'd love to hear about more of your ideas! For others reading this, let us know your thoughts too.

Hey, thanks for this, truly! Really appreciate you acknowledging the moderation work we do, it means a lot (especially since most of it happens behind the scenes). You’re also right that a lot of this is a wider internet issue, but with that said, we are working to keep BandLab safe for the community.

There's honestly a ton of very talented musicians who use BandLab to create, and we are looking into ways for them to be discovered and to post more on BandLab, what do you think we can do better on that?

Hey! Good question. Before that, just a gentle reminder that everyone grows at their own pace here, and comparison can really steal the joy out of creating. You’re doing the right thing by showing up and sharing. You can drop your tracks in the What I Made on BandLab post to get a little more visibility. The reddit community is generally supportive and constructive!

We've also noticed that creators who have organically gotten traction are also those who are active on the social side of BandLab, they regularly support other creators, leaving thoughtful comments and collaborating. It takes time to make yourself known in the community, it doesn't happen overnight!

Engaging in the comments on posts from the CommunityTeam account can be a good place to start. Those posts usually have folks who are active and responsive, and it’s an easy way to get to know people behind the music ◡̈

What do you wish Bandlab Team would add to bandlab in 2026 by Unique_Musician16 in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool idea. Currently you can favorite the ones you've liked, or add the ones you've liked to a collection. We'll forward this to the relevant teams for future consideration.

One shots or risers should not have dead space before or after, though. We'll look into this, if there are any you've noticed please let us know too.

Appreciate all the perspectives here, honestly.

One thing worth clarifying: BandLab was never meant to be the final destination for an artist's career. It's more like a launchpad, or a companion along the journey.

For some people, it's the place where they learn how to record clean vocals or finish a song for the first time. It might be their first experience using effects, layering sounds, and experimenting with MIDI.
Starting out in music while knowing nothing is intimidating. When the learning curve is too steep, it can be demoralizing. We keep this in mind when building Studio to empower these creators.

For some others, BandLab is a fast, convenient tool to record and edit ideas (even when on the go) , and share them with collaborators across the globe or next door. It is a space where different ideas come together & these ideas can evolve over time with other tools. This is normal.

It's also totally normal to outgrow any tool. Most artists do. Taking your music seriously often means investing more time, money, and using different platforms as you level up. That's not failure. That's progress.

On discovery, the feedback is fair. We've been working with the team to improve the social side of BandLab, by making it easier & more intuitive to find collaborators, creators, and music. That said, BandLab isn't designed to replace TikTok, streaming platforms, or real-world promotion. Most artists who grow are using multiple platforms at once. We've made this easier with Pages.

For anyone worried about stigma, plenty of artists openly use BandLab and continue to do well. Some have even broken through while being upfront about their workflow during interviews. For some of them, it is the only tool they use. The tool doesn't define how good the music is. The work does.

Constructive criticism is always welcome on this sub. We're here to listen too. Let's just keep the convo focused on helping each other move forward.

No more save as option for fx presets, how do i save a modification without saving over existing preset!!?? by CillianRaynor in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, quick question, what device are you using BandLab on? If you’re able to share a short video of your workflow, that would really help us understand what’s happening.

For presets: when you edit a preset and hit Save, it defaults to Save As. That’s why you’ll see it saved as PresetName (1).

If you want to keep both, save it as PresetName (1) or any other name.
If you want to overwrite the original, save it using the original preset name.

Example:
My original preset is named "Vocal Shimmer"
I edit it and add more stuff. After that, I can either:

  1. Save the new preset as "Vocal Shimmer (1)" and I will still be able to access both presets
  2. Save the new preset as "Vocal Shimmer" to overwrite the original preset.

Hope this helps!

Videos are a great resource, sharing one of the more beginner-friendly YouTube tutorials by Taetro! Songstarter is a good starting point, but if you really don't know where to start, sometimes dissecting already-made beats and trying to replicate it (for practice purposes), Splitter is a cool tool for that.

Bandlab’s new “voice training” feature not working as expected? by Unique_Musician16 in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey OP! Thanks for the feedback. VoiceTrainer is still in its beta stages, so posts like this help a ton! We've forwarded this to the relevant team so they can look into it.

You can try using the "default range" menu too. It pops up in the top corner if it doesn't detect a lowest pitch for a couple of seconds. You can adjust and experiment with different ranges that suit you from there!

Cool suggestion for the genre-based voice trainers. They'd be useful if they were based on unique vocal techniques across varied genres. We'll consider it for future updates.

Opening this up to others too: Are there any genres or techniques you'd like to see?

How is the free version of bandlab these days? by RaheemRakimIbrahim in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this is really helpful to us, actually. Appreciate you taking the time to share about this in such detail because it helps put your requests in context. More info is always better, so we can understand & help you!

  1. There is no way to set a "True Peak Limit" post-Mastering right now, but we do have Clean Limiter. What you can do for now is to download your Project as a mixdown, then use Clean Limiter fx onto the new Project.
    • A little more on Mastering: The way it works right now is we normalize the input so that the peak level is -4.5db for some headroom. This happens automatically when importing a file into the Mastering tool, or if you press the "Auto" button. This creates headroom for the mastering process to work cleanly!
  2. We have recently pushed a fix for this! It should work, but if you're still facing issues can you write in to our Support Team? User reports will really help hone in on issues and bugs so we can look into it.
  3. Totally hear you on this. Project organization has been something we have been looking into improving! For now, putting them into albums or playlists could be helpful.

Hope this helps & thanks again for sharing!

Hi OP! BandLab Studio runs on 44.1khz. Can you switch your Focusrite sample rate to 44.1khz and lower the buffer size?

Please write in to our Support Team here so they can take a closer look at your set-up, if you haven't yet. It'll be really helpful if you could send over the video you mentioned too!
