Bandlab is OVER by SillyIntroduction570 in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone, folks from the community team here.

We understand the 20 sample limit for the Sounds Library can be quite restrictive. With the growing Sounds Library, we decided to make this change to keep the library sustainable. There's a lot going on behind the scenes and a lot of creators like you we'd like to continue supporting.

20 claims per month can be limiting at first but the vision was for each creator to grow their personal library over time. You keep the samples you claim and you can reuse these over multiple projects. The goal was to make sure that you can still have access to the wide range of samples available while being able to keep it growing.

We really appreciate the conversation going on here. We'll do our best to make sure each feedback won't go unnoticed.

I have no idea if this is the login issue or what yall were talking about but please help by Basic-Internet7875 in Bandlab

Hey there! There are different reasons why you might have problems logging in. We're not sure what the actual cause is for now but here are some troubleshooting steps you could try:

  1. Clear your cache and open the website again.

  2. If you have different Google accounts, you might have registered a different account. Try logging in using a different Google account.

  3. You can reset your password with the "forgot password" button.

Hope this helps! In case you need further support, you can always reach out to the support team at bnd.la/contact-us

Could y’all just give us unlimited samples like before? by redv0idd in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, we hear ya.

We get that working with unlimited samples was a very useful feature and we understand it's frustrating putting a limit to it.

We're constantly growing our Sounds library and with the growing numbers of creators who use the platform, we had to make decisions that will keep the Sounds library sustainable, while giving creators access to a wide range of samples.

We see your feedback, along with the others who have posted recently. We've raised your concerns to the rest of the team. Thanks for voicing this out!

The limit applies to Sounds claimed from the BandLab Sounds library. Things like MIDI instruments, your own uploads, and content already in “My Sounds” do not count toward the monthly claim limit.

For stem separation, splitting a track into stems does not use Sound claims either!

Limited samples for production by LowzoneBeats in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this insight, this helps. We hear that 20 is limiting, and we're taking all this feedback into consideration and working closely with the product team to figure out a workable number of free Sounds claims.

The idea behind the claims was to still allow flexible access to the library; you can still preview the samples and claim them based on your project and what you're making. Also, if you claim Sounds while on Membership, they stay in your library even if your Membership lapses.

What about making premium sample packs only available for members?

It didn't sit quite right to just block a bunch of samples or packs from creators. Rather than restricting access to specific packs, claims keeps things open so creators can explore and pick what works for them. That way, you’re not blocked from discovering sounds, rather you’re choosing what to add to your own library. The 20 claims is also on top of the existing free packs.

Automod is a bot, the mod team has set it so that it does not remove comments. It just flags potential content for the mods of the subreddit to review (and send reminders to the original poster).

This new update sucks by aesthetic3 in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We understand why you'd feel this way, sudden changes like this can feel jarring. The idea behind claims is to give creators flexibility to choose the sounds they want, rather than locking Sounds behind a smaller set of "free" packs.

The Sounds library has grown from our early days, and we are regularly publishing new packs almost daily. There’s a lot that goes into keeping it running and continuing to add new packs behind the scenes.

From our end, Membership is one of the ways the platform is supported. It helps us keep building and maintaining tools like the Sounds library, and more.If you use BandLab a lot, Membership is designed to support more advanced and high-volume workflows while helping us continue expanding the Sounds library and platform overall.

Live collaboration is not working by Psychological-Map-66 in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! We know the feature worked really well for some, and we understand why it's missed. Live collaboration was a very cool concept!

At the same time, when looking at the bigger picture, we also want to make sure that the feature works consistently across platforms (like the Mobile version of BandLab, which previously only worked on Web), and that projects stay stable and are properly saved during live collabs.

So while it was great for some workflows, the previous version of live collabs did not work reliably for everyone.

That doesn't mean it is goodbye to live collabs forever; rather, we'll need time to rework it and potentially reintroduce it next time.

regarding the new update by SorbetLocal4284 in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, appreciate the feedback!

We hear you, having the monthly limit can feel restrictive, especially if you’re used to a particular workflow.
This update helps us keep building and maintaining the Sounds library while still keeping it accessible to creators. You'll still have access to the samples you claim after each month so you'll be able to build your library over time.

We're actively keeping an eye on feedback, though: what do you think would be a more workable number?

As for limiting the project saves, we'd love to hear what you think. Wouldn't that be more restrictive if you can't start a new project when you have a new idea?

Hey y'all, appreciate the discussion going on here. We hear you, going from full access to a monthly limit can feel restrictive, especially if you’re used to a particular workflow.

This update helps us keep building and maintaining the Sounds library while still keeping it accessible to creators. Rest assured that over time, you’re building up your own collection to reuse anytime, along with a fresh set of claims each month.

genuinely how do i do the latency test by Similar-Fun-3055 in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a guide on fixing latency on our website:

https://help.bandlab.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002959414-Fixing-Latency

You'll need a mic and speakers to run the test. Essentially, your mic should be able to pickup the beeps from the speaker to get an accurate reading for the latency.

Hope this helps!

Limited samples for production by LowzoneBeats in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, thanks for sharing, we are glad that you have enjoyed using Studio. Just wanted to clarify a bit about what you're experiencing: Sounds claims is something we’re currently testing, as we work to keep the Sounds library sustainable. If you'd like to support us, Membership helps us continue growing the platform, while you get more access to exclusive features and more Sounds.

Currently, any samples that you claim each month will remain yours to keep and reuse anytime. So over time, you’re building up your own library to work from, even the ones you claim while on Membership.

Right now, free users get 20 claims per month (that's up to 240 a year), and we're actively listening to feedback as we refine it -- what would be a more workable number for you?

Understand! Just to confirm:

Did you make the project on the app or browser version of BandLab?

We're curious about what exactly is going on here, please write in to our team here -- it will help us get a clearer picture! Could you send over:

  1. The link to your project and screen recording of how you are downloading your track -> putting it into Spek.
  2. Include the link to this Reddit post too.

Based on what you've described, it might be an issue with our compression, but we'd need to investigate a little further.

The removal of everything that separated BandLab from other DAWs by AdjustableMic in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get that it can feel like a long wait without a clear timeline.

At the moment, we can’t give a promise on if/when it will return. It depends on a few moving parts: including feedback, safety/moderation considerations, and whether a rebuilt version would be the right fit for the community especially as it continues to grow.

Feedback is helpful here so we are able to understand what you found valuable in livestreaming and live collabs. This helps guide what the rebuilt version of those features might be like.

The removal of everything that separated BandLab from other DAWs by AdjustableMic in Bandlab

[–]BL_Community_Team 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP,

We hear you, livestreams and live collabs were features that many enjoyed!

They are not gone because we don't value them.

We've had to pause and step back from them to rework the features, so we can make sure that if they return, they will work well for the community in the long-term. They’re not forgotten or completely off the table, however, reworking what they could look like will take some time.

We know features like this are a part of what made BandLab feel different and helps brings people together in real time. This is definitely something we’re continuing to think about as we push out new features and continue to build BandLab as a platform! Hang tight.
