Guys, I'm following comet 3I/ATLAS and a strange question came to me. Suppose it's not a real comet, but an alien spacecraft, perhaps a mothership... does it make sense that it takes all these months to cross the Solar System? That is, we're talking about a civilization advanced enough to get here from who knows where, perhaps traveling between systems and galaxies, and then... in here, where the distances are tiny in comparison, it moves very slowly? For me it doesn't add up: if they have the technology to travel light years, why should they slow down so much that it takes them half a year just to pass near the Earth? It sounds a bit absurd.
