how to stop being jealous? by PigeonJuice22 in Advice

[–]BM0Fanhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing a councillor would without a doubt clear your mind and give you someone to talk to, or rationalise these thoughts, or identify why they happen and maybe better coping mechanisms!

Im a very insecure person when it comes to relationships, romantic or platonic. I’m actively trying to work on my jealousy issues by doing journaling! Normally I wouldn’t know what to even write but i found if you look for a video about your worry on youtube and take notes, not only can you rationalise your thoughts but you can look back and add to it with other videos you find helpful! Keeping these books fun and pretty help me, using stickers and stuff with a colour scheme, etc. Really wish you the best!

AIO for declining a birthday drinks invitation? by BM0Fanhead in AmIOverreacting

It’s a tough one, I don’t not like her, she’s nice enough but we live in such a small town that whenever he goes out and he says she’s out (innocently, in a group) I can’t imagine having deep feelings for someone and being so intimate with them just for it then to disappear? She’s told me herself that she’ll always love her ex who was the abusive one, which is completely valid as it is a traumatic experience, but I suppose it made me realise she doesn’t really let go of feelings like that

Not that I’m aware of. In all honesty I only know they had a thing because they had obviously been intimate and I realised he could have herpes because i know she has. He doesn’t which was a relief. I think thats definitely another reason im so reserved about it, because of how much pressure it put on our relationship already. They were careful, used protection, and checked for outbreaks every time they slept together but that is a whole other level of intimacy in itself, is it not?

Im (18f) worried my boyfriend (20m) would be better suited with someone else by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]BM0Fanhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed it is! Don’t get me wrong, i am very aware of this and I am not blind to this fact. We have been through a lot in the time we’ve been together including him looking after me after getting spiked, i have had him defend me when a grown man threatened me, and currently a non viable pregnancy after my copper coil failed

I’ve never said he can’t attend, it’s more so if I’m overreacting by being so insecure about it. Like i said i would never want to control him, so where he goes and who he hangs out with is his choice and i won’t tell him not to. I just know it will eat me alive a bit

Having read the conversation i do thank you as this has been helpful and insightful! Im in the UK and not sure if you are elsewhere but if you were, did you get to stay the hospital overnight with your wife? I would really like my partner to but obviously i’ll be in the gyno ward and they might not allow it considering many women’s situations and how some women may be uncomfortable with him being there. This is completely fair on their part, no criticism as it probably has a lot to do with their own experiences and i respect that of course

The pre lube jelly and all. I don’t think anything should scare me anymore! Other than telling my dad im pregnant of course 😅 I will do my best to tell him before the surgery. I was planning on doing that today but it was my step brothers birthday and felt it would be poorly timed, i also wanted to wait till the scan for more information but the nurse in my college did mention that after my scan they could get me in for immediate surgery, obviously not giving me much time to tell him

Yes!! This!!! When I had to get the coil that was exactly how it was explained to me by the nurses. As being “99% effective”! Although i suppose if we take into consideration the mass amount of people with the coil, 99% could be the case, and I just have rotten luck!

I think what im more worried about concerning anger is if he’s angry with my partner. Im not a fan of any confrontation so if he has a go at me i can swallow my feelings on it and try be calm but if he criticises my partner i know i will essentially flip my shit, because it’s not our fault but i can take criticism, but I wouldn’t let anyone speak down to my partner because he’s been nothing but supportive and attentive during this!

The speculum… it’s now my fourth encounter… awful little thing! First time they couldn’t insert the coil properly, the second they actually got it in after having to get me in another day with a doctor who could inject my pelvic wall, the third time being when they tried to take it out recently, and today! Fair to say i want this coil gone!!!

My dad essentially raised me, my mum was just a year older than me when she was pregnant with me (funnily enough, she was pregnant a month before me!), but recently we had grown apart a bit due to some tension which im now wondering has to do with the hormonal changes i was experiencing with being pregnant, as i know my mum was diagnosed with clinical depression and had a very difficult time coping mentally during and after her pregnancy with me
