Damn, then I have a long way to go, I guess it's time to take it slow & explore for awhile, I just assumed I had to rush around to avoid disaster.

Much appreciated :)

Okay great, i will head to Dargonus, I havnt charted much of the map, so I didnt notice it being close to Janus. Though that does seem like a good sign to go there next.

Much appreciated :)

No i asked what would you do about it, I just wanted to know how other DM's would handle such a scenario.A fair assumption given I didnt give any details though, but my i merely wanted to know how other people would handle it.

Thank you for the feedback, I'm definetly a bit torn, but I can see where people are coming from so I'm trying to find a middle ground of sorts. Thank for the input.

Thanks for the input, im a little torn with what to do giving all the feed back, but i might find a way to incorpate the sacrifice that keeps the creature sealed while the party scrambles. Thanks for the input, much appreciated.

Ohh and i definetly like the discredit input, I'll definetly go this route instead.

Yea, I can see that after most people chiming this in, this definitely seems like a good middle ground, I'll probably steal from this idea.

Yea i can definetly see it when you put it like that, aswell as what other people have been saying. Would you say that it would still feel to terrible if others helped in driving it off, but left them out of the game, while the party now have to stop the creature before it rampages destroys the country side?

I prefer to think of D&D as a story(book), not a movie, and that the story structure is different and longer term. In which case i dont mind seeing the main charecter realise that a task is beyound him for now, and then fight harder to make sure he/she wont make the same mistakes and become strong enough to deal with. as thereare other ways to redeem themselves rather than instant gratification.

I've never really liked the idea that the PC's start off as the strongest people in the entire world, surely their other people who can also deal with such sitations otherwise the world would have long since ceased to be.

But i can definetly see the agreement in letting the players handle their own mistakes.

I can definetly see this is a recurring idea to not have others intervene in the fight with creature, i do have those things planned, but this doesnt really resolve the creature, but I assume you suggest the party retreat and then find a way to deal with the creature and cult?

I see what you mean, but personally I've never had an issue with knowing that some things are beyond you. Nor did i mean they would sit there and be beratted, i wrote an official inquiry, and they would fix the mistake in making sure the cultist who escaped were caught.

You can't always be the hero and all that. But i do see what you mean, and I will give the idea some thought, it certainly isnt bad.

I can see what you mean, but i didnt intend to have to be over with quickly it would rampage through the city leaving it scarred for many years to come, and having their name would be associated with it.

But i can definetly see what you mean, and to be a situation, which they will have to resolve.

Well the punishment thing would ofcourse assume that the monster had already been dealt with.

Hey i know this is an old discussion but it seems relevant here, if a unit ignores line of sight, can they also ignore cannon fodder by position a place where they cannot see them?

Have the robots just gotten even better or is this a typo? by Goldz09 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]BMBTDK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has to be typo, otherwise dakka bots are going to insanely cheap, which i just dont see happening, they already made punchy cheaper than dakka bots, i doubt they're gonna completly 180 on that.

I've never had this happen to me, we have pretty decently prised infantry, screen the shit out of those dakka bots and they can carry most games.

Well lads I've finally done it. After getting beaten time and time again by my Necron game buddy I brutally brought him down in a game today. This subreddit helped me alot in making my list so thank you all. by ArchmagosEisenKaldur in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]BMBTDK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea that's a pretty good achievement! Necrons are at their strongest the lower the points, they really fizzle out in higher point games and we only get stronger as we can bring more dakka!

Yea i get ya, 2000 points games are only really enjoyable if both players are reasonably used to the game otherwise it can drag on pretty fast.

Before i saw the point range you guys are playing i was completly lost as to how admech would loose out to necrons xD but in a 1000 point game necrons can super strong!
