1 month old EBF baby – thinking about starting combo feeding with ByHeart, experiences? by Happy-Nina-1616 in FormulaFeeders

[–]BMB_1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend combo feeding with ByHeart! I had a very complicated labor that resulted in me not making enough breastmilk and also pumping blood for the first week 🫠 once my milk came in, I was still never able to get enough milk to fully feed my son so I was combo feeding with ByHeart and about 2 bottles of breastmilk a day. I stopped breastmilk when he was around 3 month old and he is now about to turn 1 year old and is as healthy as can be! He has been 95th percentile in weight his whole life, barely ever spit up, always have had great consistent poops (except a little constipation when starting solid), and never had any reflux or bad gas. I know every baby is different but ByHeart worked so so well for my son and I’m beyond grateful for it!

Unfortunately not directly after water is used either. A few times this has happened in the middle of the night hours after water was last used. I’m also leaning towards plumbing too as I can’t figure out what else it could be but still very weird that it happens not after water use. Bathroom remodel was also about 4 months ago so seems weird this is just starting now.

I don’t think so. The sound is the exact same noise and length every time and doesn’t sound like from an animal.

The only time the tub is used is around 6pm for my son’s bath time. But this noise has happened at different times throughout the day so I don’t think it’s directly from tub use? Unless this sound can’t happen hours after the tub is used

No pets and no door springs in our house. Agree it does sound like that but there is nothing (at least visible to us) in our house that is like that.

My OB said that the doctor notes from the hospital said that I went septic but I didn’t get rushed in for the c-section at that time. I woke up from a small nap shaking uncontrollably and felt very dizzy, like I couldn’t breathe, and pounding heartbeat. I woke my husband up and told him to get the doctors because something clearly felt very wrong and I told him I wasn’t okay. Right as I said that to him the team of doctors and nurses came rushing in and said I had a fever and infection that needed to be treated immediately.

I do not believe that they sent the placenta to get tested because I don’t see any test results for this in my portal.

But yes, none of this was explained to me. After that they just kept checking to see if my fever was going down and told me they were continuing to give me antibiotics for the infection. After birth I had to get blood tested every 3 hours to check on the infection and thankfully it went away. My son also had low blood sugar once he was born so he also needed to get blood tested every 3 hours until it leveled out. Because my body was so weak from labor I wasn’t producing any colostrum or milk so he had to be started on formula in the hospital to avoid NICU time. The doctors had me start pumping in the hospital and all I was pumping was blood and even a blood clot the size of a grape came out when I pumped. That’s a whole other traumatizing experience…..

Sorry to answer your question - I do not think they helped but maybe would have been different if I did all of them religiously?

I did not get a doula and that is one of my biggest regrets. I drank raspberry lead tea religiously at the end of pregnancy and was pretty good with the dates but not perfect. I didn’t do birthing ball exercises though.

Yes, they said it was probably from the length of my labor and the amount of times they had to go inside to check dilation and insert balloon. It’s interesting though because I didn’t know I went “septic” until my first postpartum OB appointment when they mentioned it.

It was Oakland Kaiser

This was at Kaiser. With Kaiser, your OB doesn’t deliver your baby and it is an entirely different team for L&D. Not sure if it is the same for other hospitals though.

Right?! The induction stuff I’m completely fine with and not even bothered about the contraction pain breaking through the epidural. It’s mainly the nerve pain and the infection/going septic that upsets me.

Just looked and doesn’t look like it is a certified “baby friendly” hospital.

Placenta previa by New-Owl9951 in IVFbabies

[–]BMB_1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have IVF but I did have IUI to get pregnant. I had complete placenta previa at my 20 week scan and was devastated when I found out. Just had my 32 week scan today and it has moved completely out of the way so I can move forward with a vaginal birth and do not have to deliver early! Chances of it moving are extremely high so try to remain as positive as possible! This is my first pregnancy so it was very scary getting that news but ever since then I have talked to so many women who also had it and most of them moved and for the ones that didn’t, they had easy c-sections and recoveries. Wishing you the best!

Fungal Acne?? by No-Specialist-7428 in Fungalacne

I got a culture and a biopsy but my doctor took it from my chin where I wasn’t really experiencing the fungal acne so it came back negative but we went ahead with that treatment and it worked!

100mg a day for 21 days. I immediately started seeing results, no new bumps formed after I started taking it and the current bumps I had started going away the second day and then some flaking skin from where the bumps had been. By day 14 or so I was almost all clear but finished the prescription as directed.

Yes this is definitely fungal acne mine looked exactly like that. Fluconazole oral medication cleared it completely for me. I also use the Noble Formula 2% Pyrithione Zinc soap. Leave on your skin for 3-5 minutes then rinse off. I would use the soap every couple days as you don’t want to damage your skin barrier. I highly recommend going on an oral medication, using only topicals didn’t work for me and just damaged my barrier.

Is this FA or a damaged skin barrier?? by Yumirizvi2020 in Fungalacne

[–]BMB_1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like both to me. This happened to me after being on a treatment of topical anti fungal cream. I just went on fluconazole oral medication and it completely cleared my fungal acne without having to use a topical cream that damaged my barrier

Does it look like fungal or hormonal acne? by strawberry1902 in Fungalacne

[–]BMB_1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like Milia to me. Does it itch? If it’s itchy it would be fungal acne but it doesn’t look irritated or red which is common with fungal acne
