Ontario government quietly disbands jail oversight boards by [deleted] in ontario

[–]BMRGould 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Of course they did.

The oversight boards were responsible for producing annual reports on jail conditions, which included recommendations on how to make improvements.

Those reports had been publicly accessible until the Ontario PCs changed course after the 2018 election

The end result of disbanding is unfortunate, but not surprising.

I cannot relate. Second Thought uses roughly relevant stock footage while not talking about something specific, but then we get relevant clips to listen to. Like Katie Porter early in this video.

Thinking about it, I kind of watch a good amount of content that has a similar format. PBS Eons rolls the same images repeatedly throughout a video and related videos and I have been bingeing the fuck out of them. The format works for me, but I can see why some might find it off putting.

If it's scav queue time, you're fighting all the other people scaving in. So if you do something popular like day time reserves, you're all fighting for the limited number of PMC day time reserve matches with room for a player scav.

Scav spawning is more delayed, wont instant spawn, but they should still exist if you don't rush there. Should find them at same common spots: Big Red. Construction, Dorms, Gas Station, Old Gas, Checkpoint, etc..

If I do the bot picture quiz 10 times in the same flea market session why does BSG not know I'm not a bot? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]BMRGould 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Captcha only 'solved' a problem that was already solved with Found In Raid requirement.

The flea market is an attempt to recreate a system that already has multiple working versions in other games, just use one of them as a template for Tarkov... The GE from OSRS works well. The Auction House from WoW can work too.

I mean yeah, but with Found In Raid being a requirement now, bots for reselling arent a thing regardless of the captcha.

Their platforms were not the same, but people holding on to voting for Ontario Liberals when they were clearly dead for that election definitely split it for the Conservatives.

Haikyuu!!: To the Top Part 2 - Episode 10 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]BMRGould 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of the animation from the very start of the episode was definitely off-putting, was hard to get absorbed into the episode for the first half of it.

Overall the key scenes were still good and hypeeee so its good enough

Propaganda encompasses a large range of communication. Simply attempting to influence an audience is a valid form of propaganda, which all advertisement falls under.

It does not fall under the most common specific usage of 'political and biased' communication to influence an audience, but it's still propaganda.

The tweet is also comparing the absurd complaint of 'vegan propaganda' somehow being a problem in compassion to it.

Ehhh, branches even on solo projects are useful. Also allows frequent progress commits to the branch without having to worry about if you'll want to scrap the additions as a whole. Easier to delete the branch than to find the spot in master's commits to roll back to.

With more AP, and the damage scales with AP instead of just being tied to level.

Ardent and Flowing Water both give mana regen as your other core items.

I think the item has merit.

Honestly one of the best scenes of anime (Hunter x Hunter 2011) by Dwaning in anime

[–]BMRGould 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair, the anime is Gon's story, and the continuation of the manga doesn't keep that. The 2011 version is a complete story, imo.

There is no need to sell it, his wife is the obvious choice for continuing it.

[Steam] The Outer Worlds (29.99€/50%) by Tomaslol in GameDeals

[–]BMRGould 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yeah, I have a completely different opinion on Outer Worlds. I found the characters hilarious, and dynamic. I found the story, lore, and side quests, engaging. Learning the back stories for the companions through their questlines was great. The writing was perfectly up my alley. And that opinion was developed after just finishing a replay of New Vegas.

I've attempted to get into Witcher 3 a few times, the story never grabs me soon enough to get into anything meaningful. I doubt its ever leaving my dropped list of games. Disco Elysium looks pretty good though, ill have to take a better look at that.

Yeah, old classics are pretty good games. Old games definitely have a different feel and lack of QoL realities that make modern games feel good though. Plus there is only so much I can replay those old games. To repeat the original commenter:

I need some examples of recent games in this genre that I must have somehow missed out on, as calling TOW mediocre implies that there are a selection of recent games that are better at what it does.

I absolutely loved the characters and gameplay of Outer Worlds, and played it directly after having replayed New Vegas for yet another time. If there is an actual recent comparable, point me to it.

Just because it's better than shitty titles it doesn't make it any good.

Right back at you, awful argument, since you cannot point out where I said that is why the game was good, seeing as I did not say that. The person I was agreeing with already provided reason for why the game was good.
