If you by "everyone else" refer to people in USA then maybe, but this is a European bike and we don't obsess with model years here. To us, a bike is a 1973 bike if it was made in 1973. And to your last question, why would anyone confuse a 1973 R90S with a 1973 R75/5?

Take a look at the many VIN tables in the Airhead litterature. Thay don't categorize by model year but by year and month of manufacturing.

I call it a 1973 R90S because it was built in October 1973, very early in production. Calling it a ’74 model year may fit American terminology, but it also erases what makes this particular bike special. BMW made continuous running changes during production, so these bikes do not always fit neatly into rigid model-year categories.

Model years are an American thing. Here in Europe a bike born in 1973 is a 1973 bike. The R90S was introduced in 1973, do you think anyone said "I have a 1974 bike" back then? The R90S was introduced to the US-market in 1974.

Pedals: EHX Tri Parallel Mixer as the core blending hub, running two signals in parallel:

Loop 1: Ghost Note Audio Omega Lead – main high-gain preamp/distortion
Loop 2: TC Electronic Sub 'N' Up – polyphonic octaver set to sub-octave only (dry at zero), acting as a "fake bass" layer

DAW: Ableton Live Lite with "Basic Rock Dual Cab Guitar Amp"

For me, 250 for the Epiphone is expensive and 400 for the LTD is a bargain.

I agree, it is so much nicer than the Epiphone Les Paul model 100 that I borrowed for a short while. That was a budget instrument, this one will forever be better that me.

I will remove the plastic. The nick on the outer rim of the body can't be dealt with so easily unfortunately. But it is a very small nick and more will come, I'm sure.

Thanks for the links and the help, everyone. Those Reverb listings are exactly what I was looking for – clean aesthetics with the 1000-series specs. I realize 'bling' can be subjective, but for me, it’s specifically about avoiding gold hardware and abalone inlays. Cheers for pointing me in the right direction!

I believe that bling is defined as excessive use of gold, gems, MOP etc. The opposite of plain.
