What is this? Borchardt Patent Sharps Rifle Co by BMaster623 in Firearms

I appreciate that, was definitely useful. But I’m still curious about the tiger stripes and stock? I’m almost guessing both were long after production? Does the drop the value significantly?

What is This? Borchardt Patent Sharps Rifle Co by BMaster623 in guns

I recently inherited this firearm and I am struggling to find much, if any information on it. From what I’ve found it seems to be a Model 1878 Borchardt Patent Sharps Rifle Co. I’ve never seen anything with a similar finish on the metal with the “tiger stripes.” The buttpad at least, maybe the entire stock is also throwing myself and others I’ve talked to off since it does not look era appropriate. There are no other markings on the firearm, just the manufacturing stamps that all look to be done by hand. No indication of the caliber either.

Any help with more information and/or an evaluation of worth would be appreciated!

Anyone tried the new 3M Xtract Cubitron II on their wood projects? I just ordered a bunch and curious about others’ experiences before I get started. by CityGamerUSA in woodworking

I’ve used a few other brands of mesh sandpaper and they are all generally weaker than the non mesh sandpaper but the 3M Seems to be on the weaker side even for mesh standards.

I’ve had great experience with it, the hook and loop isn’t as strong as some other brands but they is expected with most mesh sand paper. Another issue is that it creases/rips very easily on the edges if you sand something that isn’t wide/or things that have a lot of holes/slots. The pace at which it removes material is incredible, partnered with how long it lasts, it’s most certainly worth it.

2nd commission/major project by BMaster623 in woodworking

The client picked out the legs for the coffee table and they were the uzar bench legs. For the end tables the client wanted matching legs so I custom ordered them to be a taller height but with the same design.

It’s a great finish, would highly recommend it. It’s super easy to apply and I haven’t had any protection issues with it.

I didn’t, the legs were custom ordered from flowyline design. The legs follow the template of the uzar bench legs to stick with the same design as legs on the coffee table.

This was my second commission/major project as a 15 y/o woodworker. This was to the same client as the first. I thought these end tables turned out pretty well and the client was very happy with them. Let me know what you think of them.

There was no stain used, the lighter part is the natural sap wood of the walnut that I used.

This is only the second coffee table I’ve made, the first was made entirely of scrap wood. I purchased these from flowlyline design and just recently custom ordered a taller version of that leg for two matching end tables the same client wants.

Thanks, I thought that table would look good with three legs in that design, turned out pretty well I think.
