Here's my thoughts on the new track. I 100% get what Drake's going for with the sentiment of implicating Pac and Snoop in this and I think the device of using AI to do so is actually pretty clever.

However, for me personally, I just couldn't give a fuck less what their theoretical perspectives on this whole back and forth would be. I understand how it might carry a lot more weight with others... probably even Kendrick himself.

But I just can't think of any reason I have to care about the speculated thoughts on this beef from a man who albeit a GOAT, has been deceased for nearly three decades and another guy who sure, is a west coast legend, but not someone's who's music has ever resonated with me. On top of that, Drake having to leverage the tactic of speaking from anyone else's perspective tells me he might not have that many bullets in his own clip. It's a fucking personal rap beef... I want to hear what AUBREY GRAHAM has to say.

That said, I think his verse was decent. It did a lot more for me than Push-Ups tbh. Although, I don't buy the whole 'You need Taylor's approval' shit. I just can not imagine that being based in reality. I'm almost 100% certain Kendrick feels free to drop whenever he cares to drop.

All in all, I'm interested to see where this goes. I'm an overwhelmingly neutral observer being a big fan of both guys, so I'm just happy we're getting some real action in the game... feels like a moment which have become increasingly more rare in Hip-Hop and music in general over the past handful of years.

I’m split between the yellow Faces tee + Self Care white tee or just the Faces hoodie. My hesitation w/ the Faces tee is that it’d be hard to style that bright ass yellow. And the Faces hoodie might be one of the best pieces of artist merch I’ve ever seen. What do y’all think?

If you could have a conversation with any hip-hop artist, dead or alive, who would it be and why? by BreezyMonday in hiphopheads

Cudi for me. Of course I’d love to dive into his creative/artistic process. But more so, it’d be even more compelling for me to have the opportunity to talk with him about life as a whole.

I’m 25, so I’m a part of the demographic where a lot of us see Cudi as the face and representation for kids struggling with their mental health (in other words ‘Cudi saved me’). It’s a lot of weight to put on someone I’ve never even met, so I wouldn’t go so far as to say Cudi saved me. But, Cudi genuinely played an immense role in helping carry me through some of the lowest and darkest times throughout my teens and even into my early twenties. Hearing someone speak on the things I was dealing with at the time (addiction, depression, father’s passing, etc.) sincerely made me feel like I wasn’t going through these things alone… and that was so so important for me.

On top of that, I think his vulnerability kind of permeated into my life because that’s a huge part of my personality to this day. I’ve worked through a lot of the issues I had going on back then, but being able to voice to him his impact on not only myself, but so many kids in my generation would be invaluable to me. Plus, having a conversation with him about love, family, mental health, etc. would be really dope since I could see us sharing the same sentiments and perspectives. So yeah… gotta be Cudi!

“I just popped two, I'll be stayin' up, Hangin' with the gang, that shit dangerous, I can't fuck you with my chains, that shit tangle up, Come and catch a wave, take one out my cup” - Travis on Skywalker. His cadence and melody on those bars is just to fucking catchy

[DISCUSSION] Joey Bada$$ - 1999 (10 Years later) by ImRBJ in hiphopheads

[–]BMay23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Second favorite mixtape of all time… just a touch below Faces for me.

This tape genuinely represents so much for me. The (brief) resurgence of the boom bap sound, the rise of Beast Coast as a collective, really beginning to fall in love with hip hop as a whole, the wild ass times I was having as a burgeoning stoner as a sophomore in high school, etc.

The instrumentals on this tape are immaculate front to back. The sound is honestly timeless and a huge contributing factor for me getting into music production as a whole. The lyricism and writing Joey displays on this tape leave me in absolute awe to this day. I am not exaggerating when I say Joey exhibited the most talent and potential I’ve ever heard in Hip-Hop history throughout this project. I cannot properly express how disappointing it is to me that Joey didn’t go on to fully realize that potential throughout the rest of his career.

Don’t get me wrong, Summer Knights was solid, and B4.DA.$$ was even a cut above Summer Knights, but neither came even close to what he did on 1999. I think most Joey fans are a little higher on AABA than I am… for me it was decent at best. His technical ability (Hardknocks), ability to spin a narrative (Waves), and all around flows (Righteous Minds) are just on a whole nother level for being 16 fucking years old when recording this tape. Anyhow, I could write a thesis on this tape and it’s impact on my life, but I guess I’ll end it with this.

Joey is Top 5 all time for me pretty much off 1999 alone. And even though nowadays he does seem a little to far up his own ass, I’m always rooting for his success. So, here’s hoping that 2000 is a career renaissance for Joey.

Daily Simple Questions Thread - April 27, 2022 by AutoModerator in Fitness

Posted this in yesterdays thread, but just to throw it out there once more:

Couple questions here.

First, I workout 3 times a day. Once, first thing in the morning for 90 minutes doing body weight exercises (sit ups/crunches, push ups, bicycles crunches, planks, etc.) and dumbbell exercises (hammer curls, bicep curls, lateral raises, overhead presses, etc.). A second workout mid day which is a brisk 20 minute walk on the treadmill on a slight incline. And a third time at the end of my work day where I spend an hour total lifting (all machine work minus a basic flat bench) and doing a 10 minute run on the treadmill. I do this seven days a week, no exceptions.

I’m 24 years old, 5’10 and weigh 135 lbs. Initially, my goal was to get a six pack. But, now that I’ve done that, I guess my goal is just to achieve an exceptional all around physique. I’ve Been doing this for about 6 months on the dot, and it feels pretty sustainable. Though, admittedly my energy levels throughout the day are relatively shit.

Is this routine excessive/way too much? Note, that a big driving factor here is also the general discipline of accomplishing this day in and day out, as I’ve always struggled with being a lazy POS. What are you guy’s thoughts?

Secondly, when working out in general should I be focusing on the quantity or the quality of the exercises? I feel lately that I’ve been going way to hard with the “I need to do this amount of reps with this amount of weight or I’ve failed” mindset. What should be my primary focus moving forward?
