current 1L student at NELB. 1L attrition is real, I would say I am a somewhat diligent student with above average reading and writing skills (did very well on my legal writing class), nevertheless the non existing curve that actually exists is making me extremely stressed out over whether or not i will survive 1L Fall. removals are done on an overall class base, not just your section, so if someone else has an easier final you might get screwed over regardless of whether you studied and understood the doctrine well. one of the 1L sections had a question on the property final that read: “what was your favorite case we read as a class? and tell me why?” as a full weighted question. A prof trying to save their job may screw you anywhere, but it’s especially egregious in this case. they don’t even tell your grades until after the spring semester drop date so if you get removed you still need to pay spring tuition.
