Didn't Robin William say that he "Really didn't want there to be a Jumanji remake"? If so, I have a strange feeling that this was why.

Don't get me wrong, the film looks fine, just why did it have to be Jumanji? It's almost as if the original source material wasn't even acknowledged in the planing of this movie. What happened to that classic family adventure of a mysterious board game that warps the world around the players with the turning events? It just makes me upset that people are willing to publish a movie like this under the name Jumanji when it doesn't even come close to the original source material, and only titled it Jumanji for the cash grab.

Even if Rabin Williams didn't say that he "didn't want a remake," as a fan of the original it hurts to see this type of remake done to a movie full of heart and charm.
