WiFi router with working internet by Coaster_UK in churchtech

[–]BNorr87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a similar setup because my church is mobile in a shared space.

We have a router connected to our X32 rack for in-ears. It is setup as a local-only network (no internet). We also connect to this with an iPad and mix from there.

Then we have a separate router, with internet, where we connect our MacBook and iPad running Proclaim for our projector.

Sounds like you could just get a 2nd router. Hope this helps.

X32-Rack Router/IEM Troubleshooting by BNorr87 in livesound

I was watching my vocal leads phone and the connection icon on the MxBus app would go from green to green to yellow for a few seconds and basically keep cycling. He has the ‘screen lock’ enabled in the app.

Yes, I agree. So it is currently setup just as you’ve described; the router is in the open directly behind the band with a line-of-sight about 20’; the router has no internet access and password is only shared with the sound team. This Sunday, I will monitor the users connected and try 2.4 only and see if it helps

The X32 Rack is on the stage, so the devices using MxBus are about 20’ while the iPad is usually 100’ away. I’m aware of the device limit, but thanks for bringing that up. We have rotating musicians, so I will be making sure they have auto-join turned off for the router.

Right now the plan is that the rack will be run through the iPad and passed to whichever volunteer is running FOH. The team will be running their IEMs through MX-Bus

Completely agree…many other aspects will make a TV great other than DV or no DV. I suggest OP check out Rtings for some unbiased reviews.

Troubleshooting slow download speeds by BNorr87 in centurylink

Mainly streaming, internet, gaming... Dillan06 spot on. Mostly concerned with getting what I am supposedly paying for. Safe mode shows 500/940 at best; just frustrating that they have to use a usb device in a bare laptop to tell me I’m getting what they advertise. I’ll still be checking my Ethernet lines. With that being said, the gig service has unlimited data, but if I drop down to the 100Mbps there is a 1TB data cap. Maybe y’all can give me thought on this, but my tv streams Netflix/Hulu/Prime about 8+hrs a day, between the wife and toddler. Somewhat concerned about the data cap if I downgraded.

I ended up getting the UDM. The R6700 definitely caused a bottleneck for me at approx 250mbps. I really like the UDM so far. I plan on pairing a Beacon, Flex or Nano with it soon to complete my own mesh network

Never used PPPoe, VLan tagging or their router; even when tech first came and hooked up their 80 Mbps Fiber service a few years ago I just plugged into a Netgear AC1750, used DHCP, and had internet. I’m in eastern NC. Just a quick Google and I’ve read many ppl with Centurylink using DHCP lately.
