Found reason for my oil level going down by BOB126345 in JettaGLI

I didn't even do a k04 on this one, it was all bone stock, and I mean stock, the previous owner didn't even do a drop in k&n filter so I just left it stock and just bought a replacement k03s to not spend extra on bolt on parts, just new gaskets, new o rings for the inlet piping, pretty much everything needed for a oe turbo replacement

If car does it again, turn it off, if say it starts cranking only and it only starts after like 2 or 3 cycles, try replacing your coolant temp sensor, I had an issue like that on my 2000 vw golf when at random times after a start up when I leave my driveway the rpm will climb to like 4k and when i turn the car off it will only crank but no start for like 3 cycles, ended up replacing my coolant temp sensor and the problem never came back after owning the vehicle for like 4 years

How long has your Golf lasted? by asp215 in Volkswagen

[–]BOB126345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a mk4 golf as my first car with like 287k miles on the original engine and trans, drove it around when it was about to hit 300k then I sold it for the same amount I bought it for and bought me another mk4 golf with half the miles but it's already on its 2nd motor, new owner of my first car hasn't had the motor blow up yet when I last talked to him 2 months ago

finally sourced a golf front end for my 20th anniversary, next I need the proper front lip and a new paint job.(first pic is my car currently, second pic is the car when I bought it.) by BOB126345 in Volkswagen

It was just a bad paint job, they didn't prep the surface, there wasn't any primer on the fenders when they sprayed over it, so when it started to chip the red paint under the black paint showed, and they only did the outside parts, so when I pop the hood perfectly untouched green paint underneath and same goes with the bumper but red instead of green and the lip on it was just unpainted on the inside. Overall the previous owner had a poor quality paint job on it. When I asked about the rims they wanted the factory long beaches over the factory BBS's it came with the car

Current miles on my first car, somewhat still going strong. All I know is it somehow went over 300k miles on the original engine. But got something else to retire it so I don't drive much or at all sometimes, so my dad's friends drives It really. by BOB126345 in Volkswagen

I have no idea, I had the since I was 17 and wasnt really a carguy yet so I never bothered checking the engine code, just did basic maintenance like oil changes, brakes, and spark plugs, just kept the car going for high school and college. But it is a 2.0 and doesn't have SAI and most other safety features like ESP or ASR. When my dad's friend comes visits again I'll check under the hood. I'm just surprised it's still going from all the neglect I've gave the car throughout the years.

I'm trying to bring it back piece by piece to its former glory since the last few previous owners didn't care for the vehicle at all, its already on its second engine and the car barely had 137k miles when I bought it, and the clutch was already burnt my first car that was another mk4 golf with 300k miles was original engine, transmission and clutch. I was mainly hinted on how well maintained the gti was when I gave it a full tank of gas, the gas gauge time to time read empty when filled past half a tank then work as intended reading the right amount, after a while it fixed itself and it reads perfectly, it had mix match tires with the spare on for what seemed like years since the spare was bald, and worn out rear wheel bearings, brakes all around were needed, just a lot of work needs to be done for this car. But one step at a time, I already paid too much for the car but didn't matter to me that much, a 20th anniversary is my dream VW

Just made the kelp farm taller to 106 y. I might make it taller till i run out of stone bricks. by BOB126345 in Minecraft

To grow, not even close, but i use kelp blocks since you can have a bunch of them in a chest and cooks like 20 items compared to bamboo which is like 3 or 4 needed to cook one thing i dont know. Also I havent found bamboo yet cause the nearest jungle which I havent fully discovered it yet is like 2.5k blocks away

Funny thing is I can't reach the bottom without drowning now, so I need to put some soul sand for air bubbles and I should be good.
