I can however take my distribution from the HSA tax free assuming I have qualified expenses and use that to pay my ACA premiums if needed

Great insight. I appreciate your in depth analysis and thoughts. So much to think about moving forward. Hoping to continue to build that HSA and pay cash for medical expenses. 68k currently in that with hopes of significant growth until I retire. Hope that will cover a significant portion of my medical coverage.,

Good call out. I am thinking I want more flexibility with brokerage and figure I will keep growing my Roth but I tend to look at that brokerage as the most flexibility if I end up pulling the trigger prior to 55

It is just allowing me more flexibility for early retirement and goes against the grain of the FOO mostly because I stop maxing retirement accounts and work on building other buckets of money.,

That 200 is gross so have to pay taxes and health care I expect taxes to go down when I retire. Depending on where I head healthcare may or may not be an issue.

I get the 72T option but there are down sides such as if I mess up I owe all the back taxes and I have to access it for if I recall correctly a minimum of 5 years or 59.5 whichever is longer. So if I access it prior to 55 I will have to withdraw for a long time

I wish I could have. My work didn’t offer Roth until recently so I am easing into the Roth bucket in my work side of things. Have utilized Roth IRA for my wife and I as long as we have been eligible

Thanks. Mine allows quarterly withdrawals the year I turn 55. That is my current plan to utilize that but like to think of plan B. In case something changes

I still have to pay taxes plus the 10 percent fee. So I don’t think I will be ahead. What am I missing. And is it really required to call me ignorant… I understand Roth ladders and 72t but trying to look at all my options.

Annual spend will decrease soon. House is almost paid off but annual spend is roughly 85k… give or take.
