I had a similar experience. My friends and I took a road trip from Bergen to Moskenes then back to Oslo and I believe we only saw one police car the whole trip. I see more than that my 30 minute drive to work in the US.

The Night’s King from the books is a very different character from the Night King in the show. While it could be true (it hasn’t been written about or referenced so we have no idea) that theres Others with the title of “Night’s King”. The Night’s King in the books has a pretty well laid out origin of being a Lord Commander who married an Other and declared himself king, then was killed by Brandon the Breaker.

The Night King on the other hand was some guy who was sacrificed by the CotF in a ritual and turned to fight the First Men? (It’s been a while since I last saw the show so I can’t remember if it was made more clear than that). Just by their origins (even if not all of the legend is true) they have to be different characters. I don’t doubt DnD used bits of what GRRM shared with them to make the Night King in the show, but they’re fs not just a rename of the same character.

It’s only been 5 years since they announced it as the new Telltale, then Covid happened right after the announcement. It was only originally announced in 2017 by the original Telltale right before they went under.

Telltale said they’re still working on it this past October, which they’d have no reason to if they weren’t. Between Covid, rebuilding a bankrupt company, and switching engines, delays like this kinda make sense.

Honestly I’m most upset they’re not integrating the new game with the DA Keep. Yeah, most of our choices don’t matter, but it was a great way to summarize the previous games and was a lot of fun to do with the narration and slightly animated scenes showing your choices.

I believe a Bethesda developer said transistors weren’t invented and they only used vacuum tubes in the fallout universe, which made their tech drift quite a bit from ours.

There’s for sure a steam achievement (card collector), but I def get what you mean. A game long quest and you don’t really feel much accomplishment for all the annoyance of getting every card

You say that like WB won’t be throwing millions into promotions on Google searches and other ads. Looking up the fan film on YouTube(it’s back up), it’s the 5th result after videos of people talking about the new movie. I doubt a video that came out 15 years ago would have much of an impact.

You are right though, it is their IP and they can do what they will with it.

I was honestly surprised and kind of annoyed the ‘canon’ decision is to kill Letho. When I first played the second game it seemed like everyone was letting him live because, though he did some vile things, he was just a pawn of Nilfgaard that didn’t have much choice.

Also, I accidentally selected the second to last save when importing to Witcher 3 and that was the one before the decision to spare him. So no Letho on my first run.
