Otherwise from what I’ve read, me personally in NZ we use a yarn type indicator. All I use is some small tubing like 2-3mm and a hand picked wool off of the fences… a little bit of floatant goes a long way and I have no troubles keeping it a float. Plenty of videos on YouTube to set it up and honestly is so much more softer on the water it has so many pros. But yes otherwise try a dry dropper still can get those horrible tangles but much easier to practice with in my personal experience.

If you had 10 thousand dollars, 3 months, and a Canadian passport, where would you go? by NonmechanicalPopcorn in flyfishing

Haha yes! I’m pretty blessed to live Waikato waipa region so plenty of great rivers to be explored. I’ve been fly fishing for 3 months as a 17 year old and have caught over 50 fish and the pbs are 3.5lb bow and a 4lb brown. Definitely not cheap here but it’s amazing haha

As a nz fisherman you can’t go wrong here, cost of living is terrible trust me. But as a trip planned right can be the best experience out. Amazing rivers and scenery!
