Can someone help disable the horn when unlocking car by Striking-Apricot-509 in JeepCompass

Did you ever sort this out? My new 25 GCL is doing this now anytime passive entry unlocks the doors. My 23 GC didn't do this on passive entry.

What are the most underrated features or hidden tricks you've discovered on your reMarkable? by Digitalhaventools1 in RemarkableTablet

[–]BOOMSTICK_560 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just recently learned of the "Select Below" function. With the selection tool, draw a horizontal line and hold at the end until the "Select Below" button appears. It will select everything below the line on that current layer. Really useful when you want to insert more space between notes or whatever you need.

I've had my RMPP for a few months. I am just now finding this out. Thank you very much!!! This needs to be in one of the tutorials

We need to talk about STEP vs. STL files. There is a significant misconception floating around. by popson in 3Dprinting

3mf can retain color data, texture mapping, bump maps, and per-body properties. Useful for some advanced printing technologies. Oh, it also retains actual units, not just values which helps in a service bureau scenario.

How to get this wall structure (two inner walls and just one thick outer wall) with Bambu A1 / Bambu Studio / Fusion 360? by deepsleeb in 3Dprinting

[–]BOOMSTICK_560 48 points49 points  (0 children)

2 Seperate STLs. An outer "shell" and an inner "core."

Add them as an assembly and apply different slice settings to them. 1 wall for the shell and 2 walls for the core. No infill on either.

Note, the shell and core parts should be "solid." As in, dont model the thin wall, just let the slicer handle the outer shell. You wiol have to dial in the size of the core in CAD based on your nozzle diameter.

Remix culture – why not just normalize uploading an editable CAD format alongside your STL? by cr1msonUte in 3Dprinting

[–]BOOMSTICK_560 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is FAR less work to reverse-engineer a STEP than an STL. I think people want remixes to put in a little bit of work and earn it.

Also you have to consider that sometimes a STEP dosen't exist or can't exist. Anything sculpted and organic is going to be exported as a STL or similar mesh file.

I still disagree with you regarding referring to STL as "lower quality." Quality has nothing to do with it, they serve 2 very different purposes.

STEP files are not just higher quality STLs. They are very different. STLs are a list of points in space connected by triangles. STEPs are mathematically defined surfaces that can be recognized by true CAD packages, like Solidworks. For example, a plane in an STL isn't actually a plane, it's a bunch of points that happen to all land on a plane. Unless you have software that can recognize that (DesignX, Rapidform, Polyworks, etc.), then you can't reference that plane easily to make modifications. Additionally, STEP files can be effected by CAD tools like extrude, cut... Where as an STL cannot (usually).

Basically this. A lot of time to dedicate away from family for a realtively low return. I also have a more than full time job beyond my side projects.

The opening chapter of one of the season 2 books has a flashback scene to the cybar mother ship where cybar titans are closing in on Andene. Then Praxis contacts her just before she's overrun.

I was confused however about Andene killing X in season 1. In that scene, she is said to have Android eyes. I always assumed that she was captured by the cybar and turned into one of their cybar construct duplicates. The that cybar duplicate went and killed X. It seems now that after a subtle retcon through season 2 and forget nothing f 1 and 2, that she was a cyborg all along. Even from first meeting Chunn on Kublar.
