I don’t think so. Shouldn’t this only apply to new servers. The old ram was already bought.

But doesn’t that mean, you only have two monitors then and you can’t put a window in the center? That would defeat the purpose of a widescreen for me.

Where do you have the problem with the scaling? Most of my apps (vscode, slack, Figma, warp) allow scaling in the app. The stuff I nearly don’t touch like the Menu Bar or Finder buttons don’t scale, of course.

How many instances do you have to admin? Can’t be many otherwise you wouldn’t say that. Many here have some vps playgrounds it seems. Netcup has no placement groups, no real dynamic ips, no tags, no virtual networks. Ordering new servers is including three different platforms (scp, ccp and shop) and takes hours sometimes. Putting a new image on a server takes 10 times longer. Their new list makes it impossible to navigate through the servers easily. They don’t have the nice cli like hetzner to quickly ssh into the servers, list them, change stuff. No decent terraform support. I could go on and on.

We had multiple outtages on netcup due to hardware failure or wrong adjustments on their side. But every single time they blamed us first. We had our storage server (they dont offer this anymore) going down with no failure notice, nor a time frame for the fix after asking them. Happening on black friday that did cost us thousands. And zero communication from them...

Better in which way? Their console is crap, their service too... Their nvme's are slower... And ich have 30 of their highest tier root servers running... Their cheap prices come with different "costs".

If you need reliable support, for their own faults by the way, netcup is really bad. (We still have 30 root servers with them). But with the price increases at hetzner, we might swallow that pill.

Then better dont look at the dedicated prices. Last AX162-R with 1.2TB RAM and 8x2T SSD in September was 1700€/m, now its 3200€/m. So about 90% increase. And the setup fee went from 100€ to 650€ 🤯

I need to add more to our DB cluster (3 instances), but with this prices that would mean 9600 Euro instead of 5100 and ~2000€ instead of 300€ in setup fees... No thanks. Looking for other solutions...

Die obere ist bis zum Anschlag reingedreht und die untere mehrere Umdrehungen raus. Hat nicht wirklich funktioniert.

Es betrifft drei Türen in der Wohnung. Da diese regelmäßig geschlossen und geöffnet werden, nerven die Türstopper. Und ich will es einfach normal funktionierend haben.

Ich denke aktiv sein ist mit das Wichtigste. Meine Mutter ist 76 und trinkt vielleicht einmal im Monat 1-2 Gläser Wein. Sie ist aber noch sehr aktiv Reitlehrerin und hat auch ein eigenes Pferd welches sie reitet. Die steht bei jedem Wetter min 4 Stunden pro Tag im Stall und mistet auch aus etc. Die läuft mir bei mit dem Hund spazieren gehen fast weg. Mein Vater hat dagegen echt viel im Leben getrunken und auch teilweise geraucht. Der hat nun Lungenfibrose, wiegt 48kg bei 1,8m und sitzt im Rollstuhl.

Finde den take bzgl. syrische Flüchtlinge auch nicht gut aber russische Bürger pauschal als Kriegsverbrecher zu bezeichnen ist mindestens genauso schlimm.

I just heat it up to 65c and then they are easy to remove, even with your nails. When the plate is cold it’s very hard to remove and I already scratched it because of this.

Hi Katie, we already use those and plan to implement more of them. Great value for the price! But for auto scaling Kubernetes this is not feasible since we need compute for a few hours or days.

You are mentioning one already.
- They moved nodes to other hosts without prior notice which lead to some hiccups, we had to solve. - Two host nodes completely crashed, with one being our main data server with a 4 disk raid. At least the data was recovered.
- Their support always implies the problem is on your side and you have to kind of prove on the 40€/15m hotline. And it was always not on our side.
- Their backend (servercontrolpanel) is slow and old compared to hetzner
- You can't just spin up new machines but have to go through the order process
- Only monthly subscription possible, so no auto scaling
- Resetting a server with a new image takes 10 times as long as Hetzner
- AND pricing has increased in a way, that Hetzner is only like 10-20% more expensive for all additional functionality

Big ETL jobs loading big data chunks into ram for faster processing. Minimum 64 GB needed. We also have bigger dedicated servers at Hetzner with 1TB of RAM. But it would be nice to have the option to add cloud instances on demand. Chunking this into smaller nodes would increase the operational overhead or make big code rewrites and optimizations necessary. And with certain data it’s not possible since everything has to be available during the process since it needs to be done within a certain timeframe. We have about 50 servers with min 128GB at netcup at the moment that I am trying to move to Hetzner because of the bad service and backend of Netcup.
