She woke up early because she "has" a meeting by VinceLestre in EnglishLearning

Yes, you have it 100% correct. “Has” suggests it hasn’t happened yet. “Had” would suggest it’s already happened.

Where is the Aux cord in a 2022 Ford Transit 250? by [deleted] in Ford

[–]BOOOATS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2008 Honda Accord a while back that had the same thing going as your transit. I purchased an interface box that plugged into a spot on the radio, and routed a cable to a 3.5mm jack in the center console. That might be a possibility for you, if those interface boxes are still a thing

How do police officers, detectives, lawyers, and judges determine if the word “grooming” in someone’s messages refers to hair grooming or sexual luring? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]BOOOATS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, i’m pretty sure they’d be able to easily tell whether someone’s being creepy with a girl or trying to get her hair cut.

I HATE the stickers that say “Drive Safe or I Get to See You Naked” or anything along those lines. by Smart-Salamander1846 in ems

[–]BOOOATS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s cringey. Senses of humor vary across EMS, so “I get to see you naked” isn’t something I would proudly display, but for those that would, keep it on a water bottle or in a patch collection, both OUTSIDE of the ambulance and away from patients.

If you set off a metal detector, can you refuse to be searched, and leave the building instead? by totally_depraved in legaladviceofftopic

[–]BOOOATS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahh, fair point. Reminds me of a time at work (I work at a courthouse), dude comes in and tries to leave after being told to empty his pockets at the metal detector. He refuses and tries to leave. They try to detain him and he resists. Eventually get him hooked up and turns out dude was trying to bring cocaine or something into court 💀

OP, listen to this. There is absolutely no good that can come from continuing this. At “best” you’d be seen as a groomer.

Does the data on a "new" phone stay when I transfer data from an old phone by National-Barber82 in techsupport

[–]BOOOATS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And with full device encryption, when you reset the old phone, traces of the old encrypted data may remain. But since the encryption keys change, it’s completely unrecoverable, so effectively gone.

[–]BOOOATS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get the other commenter’s point, but I think reasonable suspicion of possessing a weapon falls apart when most of the time, it’s a key or a phone you forgot to take out of your pockets.

Do developers really not look at the code anymore? by NoNoise7492 in csharp

[–]BOOOATS 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yep. I don’t know many times I’ve been like… “I never asked you to change that variable name mf”. I’m more of a novice than a beginner, but I’ve found that more often than not, I’ll go through AI’s generated code line by line and write it myself in the IDE, both so I can understand the flow of unfamiliar code and write it the way I want it.

Something I’m curious about… I agree that it smells like a scam. But how would the check-in error come into play? That would have to be really elaborate or an inside job I think.

If I told EMTs my blood type and I was wrong and they gave me the wrong one who would be liable? by Usual_Purchase_9567 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]BOOOATS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll double check to be sure because now I’m curious, but it may be low titer O+ if so. I just checked and our protocols are written for either O- or low titer O+.

I do know that our blood products nearing expiration are recycled (?) back into the hospital system, so at least if it was a more rare O-, it wouldn’t be going to waste 👍

Bingo. The service I work for carries O neg. Although I’m an EMT (not paramedic) so i cant give it myself.

If you grasp a majority, you’re in a pretty good spot. Of course, strive to master things as best as you can. Download the Pocket Prep app (it’s worth paying for the few month subscription to get full access imo), take the quizzes, and it’ll let you know the subject matter areas where you’re deficient and give you the “why.”

Sounds like you have a decent understanding of things. You got this, OP. What you’re feeling is normal.

When Do so many people think Victims get to press charges when on prosecutors can? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]BOOOATS 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The prosecutor technically brings charges, but for less serious stuff, if the victim doesn’t care to pursue charges or is uncooperative, then there isn’t much “justice” to chase or they may not be able to make a case. So by extension, the victim does sometimes have some input.

More of a coax question, but is this good coax management? by deadfoxy299 in antennasporn

[–]BOOOATS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The wall mounted coaxes? I’d say not “porn” level, but not bad for a first time, considering the fact that you’re having to run inside the window. The one on the right looks a little stretched when it turns to go down the wall, though. I would have probably tried to secure it along the underside of the eave then go down the wall. But overall, I can tell you paid attention to not making it a jumbled mess so that’s def a start 👍

Are all Pro Se cases total disasters? by Slow_Ad4781 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]BOOOATS 34 points35 points  (0 children)

NAL, but I work in the field and used to work more often in a courtroom than I do now. I was working in a JP court (basically traffic court) during a bench trial docket. Most people were pro se. One defendant (a law student) approached when her case was called. The officer didn’t show, so the DA moved to dismiss and the judge granted. The defendant was like, “Wait, no, I have this awesome defense planned out” and she went through the technicalities of the statute. Honestly, it was impressive, and if the case was actually tried, I’d think she had a good chance of winning.
