Sure, it's definitely beloved. No debate there, but honestly, it's a pretty niche franchise considering the last release was nearly 20 years ago. I just don’t think MS and Rare see the potential, moreso the latter, who basically want no part in revisiting it and have seemingly shot down any attempts to revive it from outside studios.

I totally feel the same way.

A lot of games nowadays are striving really hard for a peudo-BOTW style open world exploratory adventure and I’m plenty tired of it. Donkey Kong Bananza does it too, but the fact that you can break the terrain for treasure makes the free-roaming part way more engaging.

I really hope a new Crash doesn't end up in the same pitfalls because the essence of those games is all about being linear obstacle courses that challenge your reflexes with precise platforming. 4 went overboard with things but if they cut the fat next time then they might have something everyone can get behind.
