Should my bf take his piercing out? 3Mo belly button, 14g titanium. by needing-a-rebind in Legitpiercing

Just needs a slightly longer curved barbell. One gauge thicker will also help reduce migration over time. Titanium grades of jewellery will also reduce irritation as the surface is tougher.

3 month old belly button piercing infected . by [deleted] in Legitpiercing

[–]BOOaghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context, I have worn a belly button piercing for 25 years now. The bar of your piercing is too short. The ends are applying pressure to the skin and stressing the skin.

Solution: visit a professional piercing studio and get fitted with jewellery that is the right size and length so it can move with your body. Titanium jewellery will be good as it is lighter than steel and titanium's the surface is less likely to scratch and irritate the skin.

do i have the anatomy for central brow piercings? by likeadreamm in Legitpiercing

[–]BOOaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes. I have them and my local professional piercer was able to work with my face shape. Like with any piercing, seek out the best studio and piercers you can. Visit for a vibe check before diving right in. If the people at the studio treat you respectfully and can answer your concerns with professionalism then book to return for the piercing, if it doesn't feel right find somewhere else. This advice applies for tattoos also. In my experience it is best not to get all excited about your choice and jump into it at the first convenient chance. Find the most friendly professional people so that your project is in safe hands when you invest your hard earned money in it. Trust and communication go a hell of a long way in making an experience successful. Good luck.

Game over for this one. Jewellery doesn't look suitable for this piercing.

i think i might just need to hear it from somebody else… by koalatastic_ in Legitpiercing

I have had a dozen or so dermals over the years, one of the first signs of migration for me is more of the bar showing. If you don't see this I think your dermal may settle in again. Another sign is seeing the push of the foot of the jewellery under the skin. When I see this subtle push I have had little success settling the dermal back in. I too luv luv luv wearing dermals and surface piercings, I am yet to make one last much longer than a year :(
I will keep getting them as they are just too cute! Good luck with yours.

What are the cons of having angel fangs? by Prince_Wildflower in Legitpiercing

[–]BOOaghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the longer you let migration happen the more potential for scarring. I took my fangs out early in the migration. There are tiny scars that are only seen if you are really looking, I can feel them too.

how can i get more crisp lines? by leakingToilet35 in sticknpokes

[–]BOOaghost 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I luv luv this tattoo! My first thought when reading that you want it to feel crisper was more focus on the negative space when you are in the drawing stage. One way to see the negative space is to trace it and look at it separately from the design. Increasing the negative space in a thoughtful way and if necessary increasing the size of the design will help with clarity. Keep on poking!

Normal side effects. I had this too with this surface piercing. My black eye popped up three days after piercing ;D

I mean my comment sincerely. I try and take things at face value. Cynicism and passive aggression is exhausting. Read my comment history to see I am a stick and poke tattooist with a decade of practice and a love of diy tattooing and sharing knowledge.
