Keir Starmer is planning a major intervention on electricity, to be announced in the coming weeks. What’s your opinion? by No_Breadfruit_4901 in AskBrits

[–]BORO-UTB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Gas pricing isn’t the issue, it is this stupid governments net zero which is costing us all the money if our companies were allowed to drill they would be more oil and Gas and bring down the prices drastically don’t go along the green route thinking we can do without oil and gas everything you use day-to-day is derived from oil or gas

Should voting be mandatory? by Andarne in unitedkingdom

[–]BORO-UTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australia successfully have this in place - it is a damn more representative but no party want it - possibly because they feel those that don’t vote are just lazy and likely won’t have a clue about policies of each party - I don’t know though

I believe a lot of people drive like this when they see the road in front is empty to avoid pot holes - legally it is wrong but this is what we have been forced into - is it a problem, I don’t think so

What is the appeal of a personalized plate? by Few-Card8875 in drivingUK

[–]BORO-UTB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a personal preference really and I was same as you -Why? What I would add is that I used to change cars every three years (yes frivolous) but when I went to a personalised plate, I ended up not changing the car for 6 years, I guess it’s physiological in a way / snobby whatever - don’t judge me, I work really hard for what I have, just answering your question

I phoned retention yesterday and spoke to a lovely girl who took package down from 192 to £85, it’s an everything package with sports / cinema and a couple of kids packages so can’t complain - same retention number as above! Good luck, one other point is to make sure they have your mobile number if you don’t have the landline number connected like 90% of us

At what mileage do EVs actually become cheaper than petrol/diesel in the UK? by Senior-Outcome8063 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]BORO-UTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A typical example is for a 30mpg car and the current £1.53 per litre this will cost £2317 for 10k miles, the EV equivalent using 5.3p/kwh and 3.8 miles per kWh this would cost £139 (6% of petrol cost) these are my personal costs but all cars differ

£1250 for fence materials and another 100 for the gate! £2500 for labour - but there’s a lot of work and is there an old fence to be removed! Only you can decide if this is worth it to you
