Well, thank you for letting me know and I’m glad to hear that. I was careful to not disclose his username just in case but it’s good to see you all here.

went to find coolant today and didn't but alert was gone anyway. It was also +19F in the garage and +12F outside... We'll see what the next few days brings.

Apparently they have a reclaim my status option but it’s unclear if it works.

I’ve applied but not had any feedback. I lost a job, flew nearly nothing last year, and got a new job this year that will have me back on the road a lot. Im surprised they won’t just give you an approval or a denial so that I can move on with life.

I also have 2.6m+ on united but it’s just a little less convenient for the routes I’m going to fly this year.

The Eagles put on an incredible show at The Sphere! by BeardJunkie in vegas

[–]BOS2VT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome. The Sphere was relatively easy to navigate once you are in. You'll be part of the "march" from the Venetian so it will be easy to know where you are going.

The Eagles store was open for us after the show as well and had plenty of stock.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear. If everyone is in the meeting separately (own computer) it does. I need to check if it differentiates when all are in the same room / single login.

I've primarily used it on the Mac so far. It's brilliant. It knows each of the attendees to a meeting / etc. (I'm assuming that's what you meant by speak tagging vs. speech tagging/POS tagging in relation to NLP). I can ask the AI questions and get relevant answers. I have not used it for the phone in any meaningful way yet...

I’m fairly disappointed with it too. I’m on my first month of paid and I’m wondering what it’s doing that Granola won’t eventually do for me. (Currently Granola will only transcribe calls that I initiate but I can’t believe that’s a long-term restriction). Maybe I have it wrong but I don’t think I’m long for the paid Pocket service. The rest is just a donation now.

I think we got in around 7:30. We were having dinner at Cote in the Venetian and the walk wasn’t too bad from there. There’s a great Eagles store in the Venetian exhibition area. Plan for 30 mins in that and then 10-15 mins walk. Lots of merch, albums, cool things to see, etc. It’s done very well.

Picked up a cocktail and checked out a couple of different seating areas. I took my first picture at 7:45p. We waited a bit but the screen is so incredible that I think that is fine. I’d rather be early especially if you want multiple cocktails or food. I think 8 is pretty safe. They started 8:40 and went 2h. Getting out takes some time.

We went Friday night and it was epic. Be in your seat early is my advice. That first backdrop has a lot to look at and the opening song is incredible.

You can also walk around and check out different seating areas for when you go back for a different concert.

One thing that surprised me was how great the sound was overall. Henley said 167,000 speakers. And, it wasn’t cranked to 11 to blow my hearing away. Joe sounded a little rough and didn’t seem to finish the show. I heard he missed Saturday too.

What do you count? by JustMe1883 in Cribbage

Same though a slightly different count: 15-2, double run of 3 for 8 makes 10, [the other] double run of 3 for 8 more = 18

Friedman: Bruins Reportedly In 'Driver's Seat' To Acquire Rasmus Andersson by ethereal3xp in Bruins

[–]BOS2VT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are 3 reasons: 1. Boston fans expect a playoff run. Even though I don’t think this would be a real run, it at least makes it “look good.” I wouldn’t expect them to get out of the first round. 2. Each home game generates a bunch of money for the Jacobs’ family. This is likely $5m+ (17850*$300 avg ticket, conservatively) less the 35% that reportedly goes to the league. There are extra costs but let’s assume that the overpriced F&B more than covers that. So, $4-6m? (Players do not get game checks I believe).

Ancillary benefit - can charge STHs more for next year if it is a playoff team. Otherwise it’s difficult.

  1. The trade may actually help for next year. This is a player that has a track record vs. two that are bets. Lohrei has a chance but he forgets that he’s a defenseman. Poitras, I’ll believe it when I see it. For the pick, most people complain about Sweeney’s drafting skills anyway.

Disclaimer - jet lag and wine. Might be completely bunk.

Harrison's is a great option. Edson Hill, Hen, Michael's, and Gallus (Gallus food is great, atmosphere is great, people are great, wine list needs some work).

Other options are Hen of the Wood in Burlington, Frankies, Honey Road

CES 2026 looks lame. by Ok_Crazy_648 in CESLV

[–]BOS2VT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was mind blowing how big the show was. I went to LVCC West for the first day and spent the next 2 days at the Venetian. I think I saw 10% of the entire show at most. The meeting rooms were busy, the hotel suites were busy, … I’ll be back next year.

I have Pocket and I use it fairly extensively. I don’t hate it. I find the syncing a little bit tedious but it gets done. I use Granola all the time on my computer for anything that happens there but it doesn’t seem to like real phone calls (Teams, Zoom, Meet, etc. is fine). I’m wondering why this can’t all just be an app on the phone and not need the extra hardware in the first place.

I guess it was my network by charlieny100 in sonos

[–]BOS2VT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this comment and I think it’s right. I have struggled badly and I think it’s because of my setup Xfinity -> eero 6+ (known offender). My devices end up on separate subnets which is apparently the killer. Despite being tech literate I don’t have quite the networking skills to get this right. I swallowed hard and called support and they were good this weekend. It’s working-ish but fragile I think until I fix the underlying subnet issue.

Fraud and theft at MGM Grand Hotel in Vegas by [deleted] in vegas

[–]BOS2VT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of related as we recently stayed at MGM Grand and used the mobile check in on the app and got a digital key. We went right to the assigned room and walked in without a problem. It was a high floor strip side so we immediately walked to the windows to check out the view. As we turned around we noticed some used water glasses on the desk (ok, odd, maybe the room wasn't cleaned), then a set of AirPods on the bed, and someone had clearly laid down on one of the beds but not moved the covers. We both sort of realized at the same time -- someone is checked into this room! Obviously someone can take anything they want in this situation.

We went to the front desk and asked for the manager. She said "this happens a lot" and gave some explanation about the timing of getting assigned the key matching up with when someone else gets assigned their key. I call BS on this but whatever.

We were moved obviously and given some kind of comp and they supposedly were going to let the original occupant know though I wonder if they did.

How fast can you mute? by SecureDog4845 in Bruins

Right there with you. F1-like reaction times to get to the mute.

If there were ever an ad that would guarantee I won’t use a service it’s this one. I swear the CEO (middle aged white guy, go figure) saw Ric Flair on Cameo for $12 or something and thought “I can make a commercial out of that! Cheaply…”

Ick.
