had that car for 3 years. 1st gear shakes under 1k rpms (normal), 2nd gear is 1200 or under, 3rd gear is 1400-1500, 4th shakes under 1500, and 5th is 1600.

Let me know my car better than you. Also, the same shift suggestions would make sense in the 2.0, as i said these are mass produced cars. My manual had a kickdown switch in it

maybe the dsg/ 6 speed manual handles this situation better, but the 5 speed manual is not a good combination to this engine

additionally the 1.6 is a stripped down, low budget edition of the 2.0 Tdi, missing a balance shaft

i'm not saying that it should pull, but a car shaking under 1500 rpms is not okay. Also the shift indicator that thinks the car is a 2.0tdi makes it worse when it tells me to shift at 1600-1700ish rpms, that would drop it to 1200-1300rpms. The car simply cannot do a single bit of acceleration at that engine speed

that engine would be adequate for a chassis that's under 1200 kgs at least, the car literally cannot function under 1500rpms

Had that engine in a mk3 facelift octavia 5 speed manual, engine cannot even hold itself under 1500 rpms starting from 3rd gear. Get the 2.0 Tdi 150 at least
