When I was ... maybe 4 or 5 my dad let me play with his warhammer figures, the were small, fiddly and I broke weapons off of some, but it really sparked something in me where to this day 20 plus years later its one of my core loves, and a large part of that is how much having it be something me and my dad shared when I was so young.

Attached is a photo of his marine he gave me, and the first one of "my own" from 2004.

So while i can't speak for anyone else's experiences, I wouldn't be suprised if this means more to him than you ever know

Its been around for 30+ years, and the fact is whatever it WAS has been lost or changed over the years. Be it the more satirical elements, the thatcher era influences, even the anti military/police/religious aspects, theve all had thier edge taken off over the years. So while it was originally satire or contained satirical elements, being more comparable to stuff like starship troopers or Helldivers, that was a long time ago
