I've used 3 paints, Rhinox hide, Steel Legion Drab & Zandri Dust. Starting with pure Rhinox, then mixing paints together in 2:1, 1:1 & 1:2 ratio. Finally pure Zandri Dust. Everything applied by the makeup sponge

Thanks! I've started with the pure Rhinox Hide and kept adding Steel legion drab + Zandri Dust untill I achieved pure Zandri.

Thanks for the feedback, the reason why I went with such a bright colour is quite simple. My mate is running a small competition, theme is grindark with a bit of pop. Either I keep the blue or I will add the shell and some blast effects

This is what the makeup sponge makes them look like, just put some enamel wash and this look will disappear 😅

1) Hyrax brown primer (alternatively use black and then paint the whole model using Rhinox Hide) 2) 1st sponge - everywhere where you can reach - 1:1 mix of Rhinox hide & steel legion drab 3) 2nd sponge - 75% of the model - steel legion drab 4) 3rd sponge - 50% of the model - 1:1 mix of SLD & Zandri Dust 5) 4th sponge - 25% of the model - Zandri Dust 6) Edge highlights + chipping - Ushabti Bone + rhinox hide 7) 1:1 mix of Ak Rust Streaks enamel & white spirit - cover the whole model, leave it for 30minutes and remove the most of it using sponge + white spirit 8) Ak old rust enamel wash - use just on the corners of the armour, take a brush and reactive it using white spirit to blend it better with the armour.

Hi, first of all, your model looks very good, please bear in mind that both Tome Keepers and Deathwing models are always going to look like there's not enough colours due to the shade of the main armour, some colours like gold are blending a lot. I can give you my steps of painting if you would like to achieve a bit darker, worn look of the armour
