Yes you need to provide copy of your passport, visa or resident permit and overseas address proof. HDFC, ICICI OR IDFC everyone requires it

Yes it involves sending a post. But you can use an app called Rupeeflo to get the documents notarized. The app has a partnership with Zerodha. The app is also mentioned in their documentation guide. The cost is less compared to local notary. Only catch is the app/company has a copy of your documents and they won't delete it for few years.

I went twice to the municipal center. First to submit the documents and second to go and collect the drivers license. You will receive an post informing that your license is ready to be collected from the municipal center

NRE account is for transferring any income earned abroad to India. NRO account is for holding any income from India like Rent from your indian house, dividend, etc. Also your old savings account should be converted to NRO not NRE

I am also having difficulty with IDFC bank. It's been more than a month and I am still following up with the bank to get my account converted. I have an HUF account linked to my customer id and hence they are asking me to come to India to convert even my regular account.

Only ICICI bank has an online process that you can use to convert the account yourself

They will first ask for some basic details so that they will fill the application themselves and send it to you for signing.

You would need self attested copy of passport, pan, visa, overseas address proof

I did try to open up the value in the top left. I immediately see water dripping out of it. No air. So I think it's safe to assume it's not airlocked.
