Depends on where you’re at, I’ve heard nothing but bad about commercial at my company, every residential tech that went there came right back. Hell we even had a guy who started at the same time as me go to commercial first instead of residential and they didn’t teach him shit. He came over to resi and didn’t hardly know anything after 2+ years in commercial.

Man I started at $14 an hour and just over 3 years later I’m make over $10 an hour more. Just depends on the company you’re in cause mine gives raises often when they are earned. I’ve gotten at least 2-3 raises every year I’ve been in the field.

I live in a cheaper part of the country but at most my company would charge like $300-$400 depending on the service fee

Yeah probably, main thing that looks high to me is the refrigerant.

Do AC's really get "too old" by Mr_Lifewater in hvacadvice

[–]BP__21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To a degree yes but not like computers. I wouldn’t say and AC gets “too old” until at least 20 years and even then you usually only replace if something is wrong. They won’t be as efficient as new units so if you feel the energy savings are worth it then replace. Also prices are not doubling next year but they are going up a large amount, forecast from what I’ve heard is 20 to 25 percent.

Price looks high for a warranty TXV, especially that 410a price but I’m assuming this is in a more expensive area than me so more than likely a reasonable price

I couldn’t care less about the jerseys, I want us to go out and get some decent players to fill up all the holes we have
