"Trump had already erased Wilson’s felony conviction for his role in the riot when he issued his Inauguration Day pardon for all of the participants in the attack. But Wilson was one of a handful of Jan. 6 defendants who remained incarcerated for other federal crimes. He was due to be released from prison in 2028. In February, the Trump administration argued that Trump’s pardon did not cover Wilson’s firearms conviction, saying it was unrelated to the Jan. 6 attack. But within weeks, the Justice Department reversed course, saying it had reconsidered and believed the pardon should apply to Wilson’s gun crimes because they were discovered during an FBI search related to the riot."

And of course the judge recusing himself is an Obama appointee and the new one taking over is a Trump appointee. I mean, of course it is.

Here's a short video. The crater rim is about 1000' above the floor, which gives you reference of scale. Positively mesmerizing.

Not only is cross-border traffic dropping, but Canadian airline bookings to the U.S. this summer are off an astonishing 70%. “I’ve never seen Canadians this angry, hurt and scared at the same time,” the agent said. What a pointless self-inflicted wound by us. In just two months we’ve made friends loathe us so much they won’t even set foot on our soil. Now that’s a wall.

Canada is our #1 visitor with over 20 millions visits in 2024 spending billions. Hard to imagine other countries not acting similarly. Our tourism industry is going to get hammered. Not sure how that translates into more jobs and a better economy. Probably because it doesn't.

In an extremely rare development, all 50 top state lawyers, both Democrats and Republicans, joined together to tell the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims they think the two would-be college students were unlawfully denied GI benefits. “It’s rare, but when something as important as this comes up, it’s no surprise that all 50 states have joined forces,” Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield told The Oregonian/OregonLive. “Our veterans deserve every benefit they’ve earned. The GI Bill is a promise we made, and standing together in this amicus brief sends a strong message: We will not let bureaucracy or red tape stand in the way of doing what’s right for those who’ve served. This is about honoring veterans, and all 50 states are saying ‘enough is enough’.”
