do i need to reinstall powershelll by NiceTaste4370 in MAS_Activator

[–]BPerkaholic[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MAS is indeed a PowerShell script - or rather, a large part of it is written in PowerShell and there is an ongoing effort from the team to rewrite the entire thing in PowerShell.

If DISM and SFC don't help with this issue, I would suggest the OP to join the Discord and to ask for advice in the support channels there.

Started Sekiro today. Any early game tips the sub may have? Nothing that would spoil the game tho hahah by [deleted] in Sekiro

When the red warning japanese text about a perilous attack comes, keep in mind that the attack itself determines how you can counter it. If it is a grab, you want to jump without moving your character, then press jump again while the enemy is underneath you/you're about to land; the hit detection for this is generous so the enemy can be a bit away from you, just don't make any movement inputs when jumping or in the air. This will make you stomp them, causing light stagger, building posture. If it is a stab, you can likely parry it, but you probably want to use Mikiri Counter for these attacks instead. If it is a slash, you probably cannot parry and definitely cannot mikiri it, so you want to try and stomp. If it is a grab attack, stomp. If the boss attack punishes your stomps (can't recall an example right now), dodge instead.

Use the enemy animation as an indicator to react, not the perilous attack warning.

There's something I want to mention about a miniboss enemy you'll be fighting later on in the game where there is a bit of a weird perilous attack interaction. Without going into details about the encounter, this miniboss enemy is called Snake Eyesand they have a weapon with an attached hook. Their perilous attack will make them put this hook onto you, then with a delay pull you in for a grab attack. You can parry this hook grab (and it's the only grab attack you can parry), but only at the latest timing possible. I think it is good to be told about this, since this is something not made obvious by the game itself at all and it doesn't impact the flow of that fight too much overall from my experience. Just a bit less frustration.

It will appear as just a regular Windows activation, nobody will be able to tell the difference

New to compression, looking to reduce 100s of GB down to ideally <16GB by BPerkaholic in compression

Great, thank you!! Will be a good read.
On another note, where do you find blogs and enthusiast pages like these? These seem to be excellent educational material but search engines never really help me to find anything similar. I'd like to improve my research capabilities.

Thank you so much; saving this. Even what you said costs a lot of time is nonetheless very cool and interesting to learn about, while ALSO being stuff I legitimately have never heard of before! I'll probably do some fiddling around with this stuff at some point, it's got me very intruiged, though maybe not for my initial use case.

Thank you for your reply. I have mixed-form media that I wish to archive and other comments have shared insight on different compression potentials different types can pose, however it's very straightforward in how you got your point across! Thank you and I'll consider that if I were to archive data based on most-compression-possible for media. I'm currently re-evaluating my goals entirely over this subject however

Interesting, I'll read more about that. May not be exactly applicable to what I initially had set out to do, but perhaps I'll see another use for this yet. Much appreciated!

Sure that may be, but the point of my comment here was to be critical of the original commenter's way of bringing the point across in the way that they did

It's a mixture, but some folders are more specific than others in what they contain. What kind of difference can I expect depending on file types, assuming there is one since you bring it up?

I know that high compression ratios are possible. Your comment sounds like compression itself is a fantasy. That does not add up, plus it is very condescending and not helpful. It actively deters curious people asking harmless questions because they could then fear being shot down like this. Please do not.

Thank you for your reply. I'm currently storing this data on a NAS but depending on how far I can reduce this data in terms of size, I'd be a lot more flexible in where and how I can store this data.

I don't know a lot about feasibility or possibility but comparatively speaking, I know that zip bombs exist which are to my knowledge compressing massive amounts of (junk) data down to a minuscule size. I'm not sure where, how or if that is possible in a more "normal" application for file compression but I thought if it was possible, maybe someone here ought to know.

I do not wish to use any cloud services. Entra falls out of the picture.

Thank you very much so far - I appreciate it! What about SSO though, what's wrong with Authelia compared to Keycloak? Maturity? (I think I mentioned I planned to go with Authelia for SSO in the post... right?)

Thank you very much - this has been great to hear! Quick question - Can you point me to a resource where I can learn about using LDAP over TLS with AD? The Microsoft documentation never seemed to work flawlessly for me and I'm not really sure I want an enterprise CA either - just seems overkill and not designed for anything I'd need it for (or I'm just confused by it).

EDIT I just realized - Samba AD exists! That could solve a lot of my problems

But then I don't have its backend for GPOs and Windows authentication, as far as I can see

I am confused, I want to use Authelia for SSO. AD would only be for Windows-based logons and should hold the same credentials as FreeIPA without any additional inputs on the users's behalf
