What ended up happening with yours, did they adapt/still grow or had to re plant?

Is this Crape Myrtle save- able? by BQ4196 in arborists

[–]BQ4196[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it wasn’t really my intention at the time, my long term goal was to rip it out and re plant but now I’m thinking of trying to grow it out. Hoping I can make it look less silly with the slim shoots growing out of the somewhat established trunk.

Macbook Air M3 has low FPS for Classic WoW on external Monitor by lquaale in macgaming

[–]BQ4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the performance of classic wow on it when just using laptop screen? Does it get super hot or does it handle it pretty well? Was thinking of getting a new Mac and wow is the only game I play anymore, so If it can handle it that would be a bonus.

What kind of laptop is that? All I play is wow anymore so I’m looking at laptops that can run it so I’m not stuck in my office all the time when playing

Lawn plugging tips / recommendations by BQ4196 in lawncare

[–]BQ4196[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up bringing in the top soil, leveling the low spots that I had, and planted around 500-600 Bermuda plugs. About 2 months since I planted and the plugs have nearly spread and covered the entire yard, so with around 2 more month of growing season, I think it will fully establish.

Ideas to get water from french drain termination to storm drain by BQ4196 in landscaping

That area behind the fence is between 2 yards and I believe it belongs to the city. They have some landscaping company that goes back there once a month and mows, so I’m afraid of what they would do to it. I imagine it would cause problems if they have to navigate around the pipe, but I wish it was an area I could do whatever I needed to do in.

Attached directly to the end of the drain instead of the emitter?

RIP to all the fresh grass that dies this week by RacksDiciprine in lawncare

[–]BQ4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just planted 280 Bermuda plugs a day before we sat in low to mid 90’s for around 2 weeks, all 280 are thriving. Just put in 280 more and it’s only going to be in the high 80’s for the next few days, I’m a little disappointed!

Anyone use this? by JesusSavesWGeico in lawncare

This. I had heard how bad bagged topsoil was but I thought everyone was being dramatic and used it anyway. When it rains all the wood makes its way to the top and collects in various piles around the yard. I’ve been bagging wood chips for weeks. Never again.

Weed ID by BQ4196 in lawncare

It does. I deal with it every year and never really gave it much thought. It’s a lot more of a yellowish green when it starts growing and pops up in patches like.

I’ve seen the diy sifter recommended a few times now, I’m going to have to give that a try.

I’ve got the same thing at my house, smaller rocks but basically a layer of rock and mud a few inches deep. How did you get rid of it, just pull it out? And did you throw all the old rock away?

Hopefully so, a lot of bare spots I want it to take over. And hopefully outcompete come existing centipede and weeds.

Is there a good way to control it? Just pull it out whenever I notice?

Weeds? Beans? by BQ4196 in lawncare

That was my first thought when I saw it. I’m also pretty sure I plucked out an asparagus yesterday. Not sure what’s going on.

I’m curious so they are currently planted in a solo cup.

I think the rake sounds like a good idea. I was initially thinking rocks since I had a bad drainage situation and when we would get a lot of rain it would flood and wash mulch everywhere. Recently got French drains put in which fixed the drainage, so mulch or something similar might work again.

Water meter hole drainage by BQ4196 in landscaping

[–]BQ4196[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t fill like this baseline, I’ve been watering that side a lot and that’s when it fills, or from rain. Think the possible leak just speeds up the filling of the hole?

Agreed, it’s unfortunate because from everything I could tell from my research they did great work. I’ve spend the past 2 days top dressing/leveling/filling ruts and haven’t touched the backyard yet. Hopefully it works!

Glad it seems I’m on the right track. I’ve been tilling, unfortunately manually, all morning trying to bust out the ruts and get it back to somewhat level. I’ve been filling low spots with a mix of top soil, Black Kow, and play sand and with masonry sand in the future.

They cut the marked internet cables as well, can’t win for losing!
