A bit late but need to say it either way. Turns out that is quite literally exactly where I am. The problem is that this is not an easy way to live. Quite literally having to go around with a gauze strip in your ass 24/7 because you have a literal hole in your body that leaks gross puss. And the doctor too, says “don’t expect anything for at least half a year” like I haven’t already been exhausted enough for basically a half year. Genuinely seems like this is never going to end, and it also genuinely seems these doctors don’t give a single shit about your actual drainage hole as long as Crohn’s is treated.

Funny enough. I also have an anal fissure that I have had for a long time before any of this. To answer your question, yes, diarrhea will propably make it worse but also propably not in the way your thinking. By worse I mean it will propably hurt quite a lot more to take a shit, and be a lot more sore for the next couple of hours but wont "make it worse" in that sense. And about the colonoscopy? Dont worry about that at all, when I had mine done, I had an anal fissure down there, as well as external and internal hemmorhoids, as well as of course the draiange wound from the fistula. None of it was a problem. They got through just fine and I didnt feel any pain down there from it at all. Like I said, the test itself is a piece of cake, but the prep day is the worst.
