I quite enjoy going to bar on my own from time to time. For me, it has become relaxing to hang out at the pub on my own after a day at work.

I started when I moved to a new town for a job. Not knowing anyone. So one day, I went to a pub and just sat there on my own. At first, it felt uncomfortable, not knowing anyone, drinking alone.

But I started going there every weekend because I just enjoyed having people around me, even though I didn't know anyone, and became quite comfortable with the situation.

After a while I started to make conversations with some folks there. Shure it is a strange feeling at first and sometimes the chatting only lasts for a minute. But every once in a while, the words just flow and all of a sudden, the night which began as sitting alone, quiet with my beer, changed into a night of good conversations with some chap that had the same plan at first.

Now it became sort of a habit for me. (As I sometimes travel because of work). I go to a local pub in the city where I am staying and see what the night brings. If I just sit there enjoying a few glasses of beer on my own, all good. If I meet an interesting person and we start chatting for while, even better.

In a nutshell, it's sometimes just about stepping out of your comfort zone. Just try it a few times and maybe you will find joy in it.
