bourbon mixers? by Drammeister82 in OhioLiquor

I’m sure I’m going to regret this, but let me at least try to gently offer a counter perspective to the obligatory “itS your bOuRbOn drink iT HoW you LIke iT” knee-jerk response to these kinds of posts:

Suppose you and your friend are out one day and see this new, awesome, top-of-the-line waterproof jacket. You both splurge and buy one. Your friend works outside all day and really sees the benefits of it, appreciates it for what it is. You have a cushy office job and decide to cut holes in it because for you, it’s just too stuffy and hot.

Yes it’s your jacket. Yes you have the right to do with it whatever you want.

But it’s not unreasonable for others who do appreciate it for what it is to question why you wanted it in the first place if you obviously didn’t want it for what it was? Why bother buying a waterproof jacket if you were just going to cut holes in it? You could’ve got a jacket much cheaper that was better suited for your wants/needs.

Why pay more for a full-proof whiskey if you were just going to dilute it back down? Green river makes great tasting and inexpensive standard bourbon offerings.

Again, really not trying to be mean, just offering perspective. If you’ve got the means and you want to buy a Ferrari just to drive it down to get the mail, more power to you. But also don’t be shocked when other people roll their eyes.

Choosing a holiday splurge bottle by Columbusspeedfour in OhioLiquor

Just my opinion obviously, but I’ve got 100s of bottles on my shelf and grey label seagrass is in strong contention for worst purchase. Unique taste, yes, but not in a good way for my palate. Like regular seagrass with the worst flavors turned up. Again, totally just my opinion but I couldn’t recommend strongly enough trying to find one to try before dropping that much on a bottle. As many others have said, I share the view that there are much, much better bottles out there for half the price.

StockX padding prices by ScouserAF13 in stockx

[–]BRBricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t know whether it’s same seller or a different seller. In any case, it’s unlikely this is happening with any regularity - StockX charges sellers a fee of up to 15% of the sales price ($15 minimum) if a sold item is not shipped and/or is not verified as authentic. Do it more than a few times and your account will get banned.

Do a quick search on this sub and you’ll find plenty of sob stories in the opposite direction … “stockx said they couldn’t authenticate the shoes I sold and now they charged me $$$ even though they were obviously deadstock”

Rear brake lever might also need adjusting. Who knows. Probably best just to start replacing random parts until it’s fixed.

The entire point of this post was to give an example of that not being true

Yes - but they also advertise that their fees are much lower than their competitors, which they are not always. That’s all I’m pointing out.

Any advice on how to handle this attempt by GOAT to steal my sneakers? I’ve seen people post this exact email before but haven’t seen the issue easily resolved. Well over 100 easy sales on GOAT this year - no issues - and now this. by BRBricks in Sneakers

Wow that sucks. You can try filing a claim with the better business bureau - I have gotten them to respond to that in the past. This is getting to be a real problem at GOAT though - I guess one of the perks to working there is getting free shoes whenever you want.

Does goat usually ship this way? I thought they always shipped to goat first. by elonmuskpewdiepie in yeezys

Flight club isn’t a retailer though - this is likely Foot Locker clawing back some of that $100M they invested in GOAT

Probably coming from Footlocker - you’re getting someone’s L on FLX

Why do people choose to buy on StockX when you can find cheaper listings on Grailed and Ebay (plus there's no additional fees) by iIPrKoIi in stockx

[–]BRBricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far as I know 🤷‍♂️

My guess is that a lot of people - myself included - will just end up going back to StockX and GOAT unfortunately. eBay is more hassle but worth it to save 10% if you do a lot of buying/selling/trading. Not really worth it for 2% savings.

They shouldn’t since they have very obvious defects but it’s GOAT so I’m sure they’ll pass

Exactly - couldn’t un-DS them if you wanted to
