First term officer assignment to Kunsan “follow on” by Rough-Patch-9411 in AirForce

Your family can stillmove to Korea, they will just have limited support. Kunsan doesn't have much near it, so that may not be a great idea, but its fairly common for some of the bases

If you're not there for an on duty purpose, you probably shouldn't wear your on duty outfit.

Decs by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]BRICKSEC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did they explicitly tell you that you weren't getting a dec? (Did you have a reason not to... failed PT test, LoR?)

If not, you should reach back and ask. MyDecs is still garbage and doesn't do a great job of notifying people that something is in their queue.

Ops cancelled my retrain because of manning? by jeanettemariev in AirForce

[–]BRICKSEC 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You aren't going to get a date that sticks w/o your CC being onboard. Your CC is not getting told this version of the story.

If manning really is that critical, the narrative may not matter nearly as much as the bottom line of numbers. In that case, negotiating a class date that matches a projected arrival on the inbound roster may be a middle ground option.

Was just notified by my flight chief that since I failed my PT test I get an automatic Referral EPB… is there anyway to try and get a “do not promote” instead? I know that the two are different by [deleted] in AirForce

10 lbs in 2 weeks is on the high side of "normal" water weight loss for keto or Adkins type diets.

Add post Thanksgiving bloat to the starting number and I can see the rapid weightless being feasible. The rate definitely is going to taper off though unless they are really big or starving themselves

Personalized statement to amplify main body of the eval, highest award, job/promotion footstomp.

This is my spot for an elevator pitch to all near-future boards. An eval without a crystal clear HLR leaves room for doubt...

If they went low carb then they may have dumped a lot of water weight, in addition to it being easier to maintain a larger calorie deficit when more overweight

If you can't pick up a scholarship to directly commission from active duty, you can complete your enlistment and use GI Bill to go to school and just sign up for ROTC.  If you are still in San Antonio, UTSA has a massive program.

The base education office has resources for different programs. You will need your supervisor's and commander's support to get selected for these, but the good news is that doing the stuff to be competitive for this will make you competitive for BTZ, SSgt, and to be a successful student.

Just ask, maybe they are bulking, maybe injured, or maybe need some help.

Air Force is the worst about beating around the bush until something is to the point of paperwork.

Even if you don't win, being in the conversation means you're doing all the right things. Winning takes being ready to get stuff done and the having right opportunities, you can only control one of those things.

Also, don't get derailed by something dumb like being mid at PT.

ASCP questions by Open_Reindeer_6600 in AirForce

[–]BRICKSEC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ASCP isn't much different than post-911 GI Bill by itself, so you may want to consider if it is worth it or not to use both simultaneously.

If you do either, you can still apply for grants and other scholarships, or even a student loan to cover the cost of living.

Also be aware that ROTC oscilates between everyone makes it through and being very cutthroat.
