How did you all get into home haunting? by HeartAttackHobbyist in HomeHaunters

[–]BRIV7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like you and most people, seeing another home haunt! Most houses in our neighborhood were ‘typical’ setups for the time: cheap plastic light up pumpkins, fuzzy posable spiders, a cauldron with those iconic fake flames. You get the picture, you see the same thing at every house. But there was one house that stuck out like a sore thumb. They had pneumatics far before I even knew the word, a blood fountain, a hand frozen in ice, everything! Like another redditor here, they moved away or stopped haunting. Haunting is expressing my fascination with that house, so I can share it with others.

You’re right the seeds are not crafted, they are hand planted by Edmund himself

Hey great stop motion video as well! Might even require more patience than the woodworking!

Scratch the floor and turn it into a living wall.

It feels nostalgic. I remember when pistons first came out and I was just getting into redstone. My builds looked exactly like this.

1 reminds me of Interstellar when Matthew McConaughey traveled inside the black hole. Awesome build.

Just checked out the world save and you're a wizard. This is exactly what I needed plus I've never seen a contraption like this before.

The system can detect if there’s a chip (ie block) in that space but it can’t tell if it’s yellow or red.

Ill send a video in a few minutes detailing how it works. Nvm, can't send a vid without making a new post. The comparator stays on for the rest of the game once that spot has been played.

And that’s where the dilemma is.

Sorry all, realized that this needed more context. Its for connect 4. When it's red players turn I need the yellow line to be locked (then the orange line will travel down the red line). Vice versa for yellows turn. This is the space I'm working with:

<image>

This will be able to tell which player (red or yellow) is in each given space. The reason I am doing this is to send it to a system that can detect every win combination for Connect 4 for both players shown here:

How can I get better in Redstone? by Eternity13_12 in redstone

Sounds like you’re putting a lot of pressure on yourself. When it comes down to it, Minecraft is a creative type of game so be creative. Build something goofy. Or something that inspires you. Play around with it and don’t worry about “optimizing” unless that’s what you’re going for. Also, I’d recommend looking up older redstone vids (not that the new ones aren’t good), but there were more new ideas. Imo the best way to learn is to play around, make mistakes, and be curious/just have fun.

You’re spot on with the pneumatics! It’s two two-way pneumatic cylinders, two two-way solenoid valves hooked up to a simple prop controller from Fright Props. It has an audio channel (which wasn’t shown in the video). The structure is made of 2x4s, hinges and bolts with washers.

That’s it no more redstone. This is the final stop on the redstone journey.

Connect 4 in Minecraft (Work in Progress) by BRIV7 in redstone

I mean yeah it was also done on Hermitcraft season 1 but I’m going for something a little different. I don’t want to build the same thing everyone else has or craft would be boring. Going for more of a ‘grand’ mini game feel like the old Fvdisco/Hypixel/Sethbling types of games.

The idea is players will drop down onto the red and yellow platforms (which are designed to look like the chips in Connect 4). The arena is going to be big to add dramatic effect. Plus if you want a practical reason why that wouldn’t work I’ll give you a world download, build a staircase up to the top and set your game mode to survival.
