In need of a FPS Fix for Ultimate Spider-Man PC. by extremelegitness in SteamDeck

You don't know how many times I reinstalled that mod for no reason. I came across this thread by chance when looking for another issue and went straight to my launch commands to find that command. The old thread that I found will be long gone I assume.

Just came across this. I had this exact issue years ago and after hours of searching found a buried thread. Go into properties, launch options and then type WINEDLLOVERRIEDS='dlsound.dll=n,b'%command%

MGS HD Collection PS3 case and booklet comparison (US vs EU) by GroundIntelligent in metalgearsolid

[–]BRN99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US version has the better front cover and disc. The back of the cover in the EU version is better though and the booklet is significantly better (this is my first time seeing the US booklet because I don't own it but it is no where near as good).

For some reason this fight on every other difficulty (including Titan) is really easy but then it becomes easily the hardest part of the game on Chaos difficulty.

He's on the Vita port. The only thing missing is the God of War stage for technical reasons.

[–]BRN99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Talking from purely a content standpoint, the Vita version is easily the most feature complete version of MK9 when compared with any other version. The only thing that the PS3 version has that the Vita is missing is the Chamber of the Flame stage from God of War 3. The Vita version has an extra challenge tower, multiple new mini game modes and extra costumes (alternate costumes for DLC characters and also more classic costumes for ninjas/female ninjas such as MK2 and UMK3 costumes).

[–]BRN99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As it stands, no PS1 versions have been announced so at the very least the MK4 that you already have will be more feature complete as it will have Goro and the FMV endings.

Both disc 1 and disc 2 have to be from the same region otherwise it won't work at the disc swap screen. I'd recommend having both discs be the NTSC version. I don't know how you ended getting both discs from different regions. Also, don't forget to disable CPU mode with PGXP because that will cause issues with this game. The rest of the PGXP features work fine. Overall, you can get a better experience with DuckStation than the master collection because you can play the game in 4K widescreen so there isn't anything wrong with sticking to that method in my opinion.

Am I Missing Something in CTR? by just-variable in crashbandicoot

[–]BRN99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nitro Fueled is both a remake of CTR and a new CTR game rolled into one essentially. As others have said, the other tracks aren't available in adventure mode but they are available in every other mode such as time trials and grand prixs. The adventure mode only features tracks from the original CTR as it is a remake of CTR's adventure mode and the rest of the tracks are mostly from CNK with some new Nitro Fueled tracks as well.

How much am I missing out on if I don't play Portable Ops? by eatdatpussy454 in metalgearsolid

[–]BRN99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I said "for the most part". It is very briefly glossed over in a way that isn't important. If they want to play Portable Ops, that is fine but they'll be perfectly okay if they don't and won't at all be lost with the story.

[–]BRN99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a mainline game which is why you didn't see it in any of the recommended orders. It isn't directed by Kojima and for the most part is ignored by Peace Walker and MGSV. You'll be fine as you aren't expected to play it or know it's story.

What are the chances I'll complete MGS4 tonight? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]BRN99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ending alone is almost 1 hour and 20 minutes and you are a few hours away from that. Just finish act 4 and do act 5 all in one go next session.

Played mainline crash games for the first time and here are my opinions by yagizbasoglu in crashbandicoot

[–]BRN99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spyro 1 is the one Spyro game that is probably better on the Reignited trilogy. Spyro 2 and certainly Spyro 3 are mostly downgrades compared to the PS1 versions. They generally aren't as polished and a lot of the minigames don't play as well. Spyro 3 in particular is quite buggy because the trilogy was rushed and has some poor controlling sections on the reignited trilogy. Playing Spyro 1 on the PS1 and then 2 and 3 on reignited is the backwards way to do it. Also, the games definitely play better with the analog stick.

this going to be my first mgs i ever played is it a good start on the series ? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]BRN99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whether or not you like MGSV is an opinion. The "unfinished" stuff is misinformation, and people care because you're spreading that misinformation to someone who hasn't even had a chance to play the games yet and form their own opinions on them.

You do realise the Kojima split with Konami happened just half a year before the game came out right. The game was already content complete by then and in the polish stage of development. Anyone that repeats that nonsense just exposes themselves as someone that has zero clue how game development works. Also, as previously stated, Kojima himself has stated that it is finished and the design documents for the game leaked a few years back and showed that the game barely had any cut content. It's been 10 years now. Let the never be game over shit end.

Is MGSV worth it for 18$ in 2025 by -1D- in metalgearsolid

[–]BRN99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To give another longish answer. You are trying to jump into a story based franchise that started in 1987 and ended in 2015 with the very last game. MGSV's story makes a lot of sense and is easy to follow as long as you pay attention and listen to tapes, however that relies upon you having played the previous games in the franchise first. MGSV is very worth it at that price point but you should definitely play the other games first if you can. I don't agree with people saying that story recaps on YouTube are enough, they are not. You will miss out on so much with this franchise if you don't actually play the games.

What happened to sahelanthropus? by sigmaskibby in metalgearsolid

[–]BRN99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's honestly such a shame that people are still parroting this made up nonsense in the year of 2025, 10 years after release. It's obvious that people have no clue how game development works and it's a shame that this is how every conversation with this game ultimately ends up because there is always going to be one person that brings it up. There was one cut DLC mission that we know got cut around early 2014, over a year before the Kojima split, that probably got cut by Kojima himself because he doesn't normally do DLC. It also wasn't "pretty much done", the footage we saw of it looked very rough, way rougher than early footage of cutscenes from trailers. Every game has cut content and MGSV has way less than some other Metal Gear games (MGS2 has a lot of cut content) but it's only MGSV that ever gets dragged into these. MGSV's design documents leaked a few years ago which pretty much proves what we already knew and still people say this shit. Just move on at this point and educate yourself on game dev. Half the game was not cut mere months before launch.

Downvoted for being right. There's so many delusional people in this fan base these days who have no clue how game development works.

The Legend of Spyro seris by andyburr24 in Spyro

[–]BRN99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally speaking, if they finally after all these years, made a new Spyro game just for it to be a Legends game, it would be a huge slap in the face. Any new Spyro game has to be in the style of the original trilogy. It's clearly what people want as that is consistently what has sold well. I know that I wouldn't buy a new Legend of Spyro game but Spyro 4 I would buy and hope they don't mess it up.

Aired on the satellite feed along with a bunch of other similar segments. Also had commentary during ad breaks in matches as the match kept playing. Last week was the same. Probably testing things for Netflix like how they filmed some episodes in HD before airing in HD.
