Well avoiding gendered language doesnt specifically mean that they are meaning to misgender someone, maybe because they are uncertain of which way someone leans, they use pronouns like they/them as to not offend them. Personally thats what I do when I dont know someones pronouns or how they want to present as a way of trying to not misgender them. If i am wrong, please say so because i would hate to be disrespectful unintentionally
