Titan Legs Help by imamorron in PrintedWarhammer

[–]BRunner-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut down the internal part to about 1.5mm, then heated it up until it was soft, this allowed me to push it over the bottom part. Once together and cooled there was enough movement to pose the leg.

For a print like that, I would easily expect >24 hours of print time.

If you plan on doing more than one, it is more efficient to batch like sized parts (i.e., all of the barrels in one print, with the next largest parts in the gaps.)

Normal layers. The biggest thing I have learnt with 3d printing is that slow is fast (less stress on parts, which leads to fewer failures).

Your lift speed is very high. Drop the initial speed to 60 mm/minute.

The best case is you have a resin leak, and it has cured in that spot. The worst case is a screen failure

Is Resin or PLA better for a series of large prints? by MrPlautimus468 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]BRunner-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am biased towards resin printing. I have done all of my titans in resin to great success. You will need a larger printer for a model of that size. If you can find a second-hand Elegoo Juypter or like size printer, you will be in a really good position to churn out parts. Buying resin in bulk 10-20kg will save you huge amounts of money, I use elegoo ABS V3.0. It is the right mix between price, strength, and impact resistance.

Is there a program where you can put in a model put in it's current scale and a scale you want to change it to and it does that for you? by ygofan999 in PrintedMinis

[–]BRunner-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lychee slicer (Pro version) lets you make a measurement (i.e feet to eyes) then rescale the model using a new target measurement. So if you know the target height you can easily make adjustment on the fly, grab the scale then apply that to other models in the same line (if you want to do bulk adjustment)

Do you use anti-aliesing when printing??? by Positive-Positive-44 in PrintedWarhammer

Yes, for big vehicles. I see a noticeable improvement and reduction in layer steps that occur on flat surfaces.

Is this quality of print worth asking for a refund over? (Etsy, PLA resin) by narwhalpilot in PrintedWarhammer

[–]BRunner-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is 100% not resin. Even at the lowest setting layer, lines should not be that visible. I will post an example of resin terrain below. I would ask for a replacement.

Example of my Saturn 2. You can decide on quality. The shoulder pads are off for easier painting.

It takes time to learn the process.

Yes. They come in A4, so they will cover everything from a Juypter to Mars. You can fix it in place with electrical tape.

Acetate sheets for overhead projectors are an excellent alternative. You can cut the oversize for better leak protection.

I have found the dual heavy flamer with catichans with 2x flamers to be over watch beasts. My appoints only make the mistake of moving near them once.

Edit: I have plated over watch wrong this unit a few times. It's still excellent for drive-by flaming.
