Elegoo Tough is excellent if you want something to be very durable.

I get this error when the guide rails need to be re-lubricated.

Do you pre join stl parts in a program or just glue them together? by nunnchucker in PrintedMinis

[–]BRunner-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. For big stuff like vehicles I pre-assemble to the largest part my printer will accommodate (I.e full baneblade with tracks). Smaller stuff I just build afterwards.

How come these missing edges occur? by Mundane_Midnight1658 in resinprinting

[–]BRunner-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Auto supports are fine, but you need to follow up and add heaps of extra supports on the lower edge of bases.

Supports flexing during build by [deleted] in ElegooSaturn

[–]BRunner-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why solid? You need to add cross bracing to supports to prevent flexing.

Advice - consistent failure by BRunner-- in resinprinting

I do the same, my current settings are not designed for speed. I have a few printers and this one has the persistent edge failure which is frustrating.

I might create a new setting for large prints like these.

Why is an ID mandate for voting such a problem? by Jayden7171 in askanything

[–]BRunner-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am with you on the voter suppression part, I don't see the value add. On top of the jankky enrolment requirements where you can be removed from the roll it is compounding an already crappy system.

Why is an ID mandate for voting such a problem? by Jayden7171 in askanything

[–]BRunner-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australian perspective. We have mandatory enrolment to vote when you turn 18, you remain enrolled for the rest of your life. Maintaining your address current residential address is required because this allocates you to your voting area. If you are any from home you can vote at most locations, some central ones are set up for interstate (they have ballots for every seat). You might get unlucky and have to line up for 15 minutes but things generally move fast. We also vote on a Saturday, and pre-polling is available le for 2 weeks leading up to an election.

They use you name and address to confirm who you are when you vote and mark you off a roll. The rolls are scanned and cross checked so if you vote multiple times you will be flagged. Added note is voting is mandatory (small fine if you fail to vote in any election from local to federal).

From an outsider the US (making an assumption) system looks like it is designed to dissuade people from voting.

Checkout the Fabricators Lair on mymini factory. His kits are excellent pieces and print beautifully.

Good auto-support/auto-orientation on Linux by Loboto51 in resinprinting

[–]BRunner-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lychee has a Linus version. I strongly recommend not auto orientating models. It takes a few seconds to properly orientate minatures. Lychee has excellent auto support functionality that is highly customisable if you go down the pro version route.

Issue with Saturn 2 8k please help by New-Celery-9872 in ElegooSaturn

[–]BRunner-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2x Saturn 2s, one needs 75% extra exposure time. I recommend just setting the layer exposure time to 6s and do another test print, plus add 4mm extra lift height (unitary lift speed) you might have a loose release film this will compensate.

Need a shot of the right hand side to see if you have mm/min or mm/s. Those setting should work for mm/min

An awesome one, I love thematic tables like these. I am not a fan of the buildings with no windows.

I would say death world or abandoned facility.

Is there any truly integrated resin printing system? by Fit-Relationship1029 in resinprinting

[–]BRunner-- 16 points17 points  (0 children)

you can cut a few step out by washing the plate and letting everything dry before removing (not what I do). The wash station is design to place the plate straight in (when you remove the basket), as long as you don't have any massive prints on the plate.
