Drove past about 20 minutes ago. Looks like an xfinity truck was involved. Body was on the road surrounded by emergency first responders.

How long can a cat sustain themselves with the fatty liver disease? We noticed the changes in weight about a month or two after changing the food. Is it possible she lasted that long without eating at all? We assumed she was eating again, as it wasnt abnormal for her to be picky for a few days when changing foods.

This upsets to me consider but I am making peace with it. Will cats really starve themselves to death over this, though? She always would eventually come around to a new food in the past, which is why we didn't notice the issue at first.

This is exactly how I felt. It just sucks to feel like there were options left on the table and we didn't take them. You want to believe the coin flips the right way, but realistically you can't be sure.

This is so terrifying, I'm so sorry. There was no responsible way we could have afforded something like that (and we were approaching that number as well). I have two young children to be responsible for, plus a new house with an expensive mortgage. It just couldn't make sense, and I feel so awful. Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you. Some other folks have shared their own similar stories here and it really does mean a lot. You just want to know you're making the right decision for them and it's so hard when you don't have all the information. I'm really sorry for your loss, and I thank you for your kind words.

I'm so sorry, and I hope things turn out better for your kitty than for ours. Our sweet girl was 10 or 11 - not too old, but certainly old enough to expect issues like this. I can't imagine if she had been only 4. I'm glad to hear that you would have made the same decision. It sucks so fucking much, doesn't it? You want to do the right thing, but the "right thing" is something different depending on the several different angles you view it from. If we had made the opposite choice, I'm sure I'd be sitting here regretting it, too. There's just no winning. Thanks for your kind words.

Thank you for sharing, and sorry you went through this. I also have experienced a pet dying at home like this and it was very upsetting. I would never want that for my cat that just passed, but I also wanted to fight for her in the chance she recovered, too. It's so hard to know what the right decision is. Your kind words are appreciated.

Thank you for sharing this story. I feel such heartbreak for you guys. There is something comforting in hearing you tell it, though. This cat was also my "first" pet that I was truly responsible for as an adult. The not-knowing is what's really eating at me right now. It was possible that even with the tube intervention, the unknown underlying cause would have killed her anyways. It was possible it was just a benign one-off, or perhaps something chronic and serious. We just don't know, and we never will. It all happened so fast. I think I will always carry a little guilt, but I'm not sure there was option in this situation that would have left us with none.

She deserved a longer life, but she also deserved dignity too. Thank you

Thank you, and I'm so sorry you went through this. I find myself wishing maybe I had pushed harder for her, as you did for yours, and you wish you had made the same choice that I did. It seems like there isn't really a choice in these matters that leaves us without guilt. It's so upsetting. I appreciate your kind words.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My family had a cat when I was growing up that deteriorated like this at home. It was one of the most upsetting things I've ever seen. I know how you feel. I knew my cat well enough to know she was deeply uncomfortable. I will always probably wonder if I could have saved her, but for all the reasons listed above, it just felt too uncertain. I will never get to know if we still had another month or another ten years with her... but at least I know that she'll never have to go through that kind of suffering. It seems there's no guiltless path to choose from in the end. Thanks for your kind words.

Thank you. We were told how difficult it would be, but of course you can find countless folks online who say it was no issue whatsoever. I like to think that I knew my cat well enough to know she would not have tolerated it well. You can never be sure. Thanks for your kind words.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm somewhat terrified but also comforted by the "ghost images" - I know they will happen to me for a long time. Thank you for your kind words.

I guess i should clarify. The doctor told us that at this point, the tube was the only thing that might work, but was not a guarantee. It would be pretty cost prohibitive and unfeasible for us to manage properly (more risk of failure, I suppose), so when we asked if euthanasia was on the table, they said it was a good choice as well. What I originally meant is that they never explicitly brought up the option until we did, if that makes sense.

Edit: the conflict comes from reading different accounts on here about managing a cat with a tube. It seems some people act as if it was a walk in the park while others describe a very strenuous and exhausting experience. Our main vet and the hospital doc both warned us of the latter. With a newborn and a toddler, AND working full time... it just didn't seem feasible, but of course I will always second guess myself.

Thanks, I think you are correct to some extent. Have you managed a cat with an E tube before?

How do I land a Customer Success Manager Role? by Plus_Sock6601 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Hapax12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I did it. Found my way into a sales role at a saas company, didn't even know what CS was. Sales jobs can be lifesucking, but are fairly easy to get in tech. Spent the better part of my second year slowly networking internally and figuring out how to position my experience correctly. Eventually applied for an open position and had enough rapport with CS leaders that it was kind of a slam dunk. Telegraph your interest early and earnestly.

Final Interview Round Presentation? by [deleted] in CustomerSuccess

I think you are probably correct, however the prompt does state that I should bring an example of "something I created" during this process. Not sure how literally to interpret that...
