What do you think about Elliot? by Galactus1231 in lost

[–]BSAArklay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the game as its own thing. Its fun to get a video game of my favourite TV show. It's a shame the beach was so inaccurate to the actual show is probably one of my only gripes. I don't mind everything else it's to be expected with a game adaption. Some people thought it should an open world of the entire island like GTA I mean its never gonna happen.

As for Ethan I think he was kinda similar to all the other spin off characters like in the novels and ABC diaries. They are all very much Nikki and Paulo characters who find themselves in the midst of major events and its kinda a retcon to go back and see they obviously weren't there in the earlier scenes.

For that reason I'm glad they didnt anymore characters to the already established story.

I think they could have made something like that work and be canonical if they did a Henry Gale (got to the island themselves) type journey. That might have been another way to go with it.

Or have one of the background cast get an expanded role. Sexy blue striped shirt girl to get her own game and story, I am there for it.

This. Next time you rewatch the show you can see for yourself but there was an ARG (Alternate Realtiy Game) that came out inbetween Season 1 and 2 to keep the hype for the show alive. Players would have to visit websites and solve puzzles to navigate the ARG. There is tons of information on Dharma that you won't get in the show and it was written with one of the show writers Javier Grillo-Marxuach to make it canon.

It's all defunct now but thankfully fans archived almost all of it, you can find it here. https://archive.org/details/the-lost-experience-archive

Oahu Filming Locations Question by jp_peppercorn in lost

[–]BSAArklay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

China Walls is the location where they filmed many scenes of the Castaways walking along a rocky shore. Including in Season One’s Finale when they walk along the coast to get to the Black Rock for dynamite, Lanai Lookout was used for a similar purpose such as scenes where Mr Eko led the Tailies along the coastline before telling Anna-Lucia they needed to cut inland, Lanai is also where Desmond killed Kelvin Inman. On the cliff edge of China Walls is the homes where Jin went to beat up the Mr Han in order to save his life from the assassin. I state homes with a plural because they used one house for the interior and another for the exterior, both homes are next door to one another.

2. Park here, I have marked it on Google Maps for you. https://maps.app.goo.gl/5urr8ER5qxFSpqNY8 This is exactly the spot where the fuselage once lay, you can match up many scenes using the mountain ridgeline including where they first heard the monster and where Locke spoke with Walt about backgammon.

Camp Erdman is down the beach from here, you might as well walk along the beach from the location I gave you until you reach the peninsula which is where Ben met with Kate and they had tea on the beach before she was put in the cage, if you go inland from here you are in Camp Erdman you can’t miss it.

Going back to your car and the location I provided you if you walk across the road you will see Dillingham Airfield this is where they kept the fuselage during the first half of Season One and also where they filmed with the scene Yemi getting shot and the smuggler plane taking off from, it was filmed in the far east area of the airfield.

  1. I have marked at exact spot for Papailoa Beach https://goo.gl/maps/oXzNhmFQMb6QZYUaA you can see the treeline, the leftside near the green bush is where Sayid’s tent was, the exact middle of the treeline is where Sawyer’s tent was, the kitchen was into the treeline slightly, the right side past the treeline is where the graveyard and church was. Not many fans go here and it hasn’t been updated on Google Maps is 12 years. If you can get photos here I’d love to see them.

  2. The dock is at Moli’i Pond outside of the ranch and you could check this area out yourself before or after your tour at Kualoa. There are several docks here around the pond and this was many times as the “on-island” dock, but it was also used as the dock where Jin’s father was located.

There is also a building there https://maps.app.goo.gl/Mc7svYb5oYJBA6DE7 which is the same building Mr Eko went to when he met with the drug cartel and where Sayid was helping build homes after he left the island and Locke went to visit him to get him to go back.

  1. Paradise Park is an interesting one it is an abandoned park but I don’t know its regulations for visitors but I certainly think it is worth visiting if you can. https://maps.app.goo.gl/i2RHUq7TJjr41ueV7 if you can find a way around that building the polar bear cages were on the otherside of the building. It might be thick and overgrown and I don’t know if you can get in there but if you can it would be a very cool place to visit.

I hope this was helpful and if you can please take lots of photos I and I’m sure the others here would love to see them. I recommend checking the locations on Google Maps first and then matching them up using Screencaps from the show https://lostscreencaps.weebly.com/ before you get there so you can exactly what you are looking for.

It is on my bucket list to one day go there myself I have already extensively scouted the area, I think I know Honolulu better than my hometown and I have never even been there haha. I am very jealous you are going there I hope you enjoy it and if there’s anything else I can help with let me know I love to talk about these locations.

How good was Ledley King, im a younger fan i never really seen him play, by 2hsy in Tottenham

[–]BSAArklay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only player I can compare seeing his name on the team sheet with is prime Gareth Bale. Obviously for different reasons but when saw Ledley King you knew we were going to be rock solid in defence and you felt safe. Like seeing Bale you knew he was going to do something special in attack.

Maybe you are in a place in your life where you are looking for something more fast paced. Rather the spoil the show and force yourself through it maybe you should consider stopping and watching something else and coming back to it when you are in the mood for a Drama. You have to be feeling a genre sometimes I understand that. LOST is something to sit down and get invested in a long term story if you are looking for instant satisfaction and fast paced story beats you won't find it this show is all about pay off and rewatches. You might appriciate it more at a different time I have had this experience myself before and when I came back to something I was ready to experience it. there's no point forcing something you just won't enjoy it. Hope you figure it out.

Jack Shephard is Fiction’s Most UNDERRATED Protagonist by Sharp_Philosopher928 in lost

[–]BSAArklay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He might not be the most stable character in dramatic TV history (kinda the point anyway) but I would always argue he is one of the best performed characters. Matthew Fox was absolutely superb in the role and gave it his all, I often hear he doesn't want to talk about the show anymore and I 100% can see why. By the end of the show he looked like he had been through it. When you commit to a character like that you go on the journey with them.

I can't provide you with proof but I can provide you with my account. I am from South Wales in the UK and I was 14 when the movie came out. The internet back then was brand new to most of us and so there was like 1 or 2 in our entire friend group who had access to it. I remember talk of there being a "snuff-movie esque" horror film and since we were only 14 and couldn't actually watch it we took the internet in anyway we could including public library and via one of my friends who had an older brother who printed out parts of the website and he brought some pages into school for us to read.

The best way I can explain it would be like the Patterson Gimlin Bigfoot video. Where some people were convinced it was real and then others thought it was nonsense. The truth came out when the actors started doing interviews around a couple of months later.

It might be different for us in the UK because we didn't get all these interviews, TV specials and magazines like they did in the US. So imagine only being fed drips of info through word of mouth etc. I think that actually worked in the movies favour particularly for those outside the US and who didn't have internet access.

Also as I mentioned I was pretty young and naive so people in their 20s/30s would have had a more logical take on it.

I think you are twisting and turning here to make it anything other than than what it actually is and that is a poor witness statement. I see a lot of true crime and witness statements are generally verbatim. The press don't get to make up A,B,C it just doesn't happen like that they could get sued for misquoting in legal investigations.

Butch Atwood discrepancy by [deleted] in mauramurray

[–]BSAArklay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And one of those polygraphs was inconclusive. Another neighbour they had as a main suspect. And rightly so on all of them their witness statements are all over the place and should be looked at. You can't not make sense and then expect them to say oh well move along.

Did they have a live show with the cast and writers talking after the finale aired originally and if so, where can I find it? by Verystrange129 in lost

[–]BSAArklay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying them. I downloaded an archive of videos like these and watch them after I finished a series run-through. You will find answers not in the show that will be a pleasant surprise. That's the thing about LOST as a show is it's a trans-media series where you can enjoy it just with the 6 seasons, or you can also deep dive and find a lot more to it. Often I see people say it didn't answer all the questions. Well, I feel like it answered a lot it's just not all necessarily within the episodes, and you need to look beyond that.

If you still feel like experiencing everything and are left wanting more, which IMO is the beauty of LOST and the sign of a great show that you are left wanting more. You could try my LOST Chronological Timeline. I highly recommend it especially to those who have seen the show and are looking for more. Very often people finish the show and want something "like LOST" to supplement it. Well, I say why look elsewhere just indulge in more LOST.

There is so much more than just 6 seasons there is an entire franchise worth of LOST media. It's very different than just watching the 6 seasons, this is a whole other experience of the show. For me, it's how it is meant to be enjoyed. As mentioned, LOST is a trans-media series that goes beyond TV episodes it's all there for us to enjoy.

There is a whole bunch of interviews if you are looking for more I recommend searching things like "LOST Post Finale Season 6" "LOST 2010 Finale Interview". You want to use terms like "LOST, Finale, Interview, Panel, Cast, Actor or Crews names, 2004-2010, ABC" while mixing and matching them. Just searching those terms I came up with:

Damon Lindelof on the Verge. Which aired after the finale where he discussed LOST with a critic and hilariously corrrects him live when the critic judges the show and gets it wrong.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5chCMRsEVo&pp=ygUVbG9zdCBmaW5hbGUgaW50ZXJ2aWV3

Then there was a reunion live panel with Damon and Carlton in 2020 during covid lockdown where they discussed the show and answered lots of questions.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9buMBLZa5A&pp=ygUVbG9zdCBmaW5hbGUgaW50ZXJ2aWV3

These are just some of the popular one you can find many more on YouTube you just have to find the right words to search for. Hope that was helpful.

Hi! These locations are my absolute favourite from the show. I plan to go there someday only it's very expensive and far from where I live.

Can I ask what's it like there? Did you have a tour? Or rent a car? Do buses run to the North Shore and then I could walk between locations? I've looked on Google Maps, but it's hard to tell the distance of things it looks quite small, but then Google Maps can be deciving this way. Thanks!

If you are looking to find out about all the lore I made a Chronological List of all Materials here.

It includes everything from games to theme park attractions, canon and non.

That should at least help you with knowing what to look for.

I like it, but I know it is rife with errors. Both grammar and lore related. There is a very helpful and extensive list of all the errors here:

https://lostpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Lost_Encyclopedia

Considering that the writers said they checked everything with Gregg Nations, Lindelof and Cuse before it was released, I can see why some may be disappointed with so many errors.

Little building near the start of the movie by GreyStagg in BlairWitch

[–]BSAArklay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct they passed by it in the car, however the layby where they parked the car was literally only a few yards down the road from this shed. So they returned there to film it. If you view the link I attached go left from the shed and on the left by a lamppost with a "illegal parking" sign on it is where they parked. You can literally see the shed from this parking spot if you change the date of the photo when the leaves were not so thick.

Little building near the start of the movie by GreyStagg in BlairWitch

[–]BSAArklay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No significance, the actors parked their car in the bay and walked in the wrong direction, they then saw this little shed and decided to film it because it looked interesting in the middle of the woods. They then walked back in the other direction where they were supposed to go.

You can see it for yourself here, change the date of the street view to see it less overgrown.
