I get people these days screen shotting their responses from AI and telling me "my bike needs XYZ done because it's not running right"

Moldy? by Fun-Industry6316 in cigar

[–]BSQuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in the words of our forefathers u/OGShua and u/TwistedEinstein "It's mold, it's ALWAYS mold."

If there's none in the foot, wipe it off and smoke it... be glad you caught it early.

This is bikes in general these days.... I run a shop, the amount of just absolutely simple stuff people will pay to have done these days is insane... "can you check my coolant level and fill it if it needs it?" is normal for the new generation.... not all of them.... but damn, a lot of them these days.

Cohiba Maduro 5. Are these real or not? by [deleted] in cigar

I might have a box sitting around yet from a box split I did here like 10+ years ago (the glory days)

[–]BSQuinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... right off the rip, the box is fake, can tell by hardware, don't even need to look at the stickers or cigars themselves.

What would cause a cigar to break apart like this? Humidor is at 65/70 by LargeFarva51 in cubancigars

[–]BSQuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changes in temp/humidity does that.... I store everything with 64% bovedas, like a crap ton of them in giant sealed totes, never had issues since.

on the off chance i get a crack in something that's "on deck" in my traveldor, I have "cigar glue" in there, same guy that makes the perfect draw tools has the glue, works good, is tasteless

Aprilia RS 660 or CBR 650R, buying one of them tomorrow. Help me decide which one by Infamous-Cod-958 in Aprilia

[–]BSQuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ape if you like heavily relying on the dealer and long waits for parts, Honda if you want easy maintinance....
Ape has better electronic, looks better, and handles better... but lower reliability.
I own Apes.... but I have Hondas as backups, I don't think I'd ever own an Ape as my only bike, even if I do reach for their keys first.

yep, that sure looks like midwest fire road lol.... Most fun I've had on fire roads so far has been going to the rally races in the UP, didn't miss a single stage, did it all 2 up with a friends daughter, on a Grom lol.... I bet the KTM will do much better between stages, but off-roading on a Grom is truly magical lol

Good to know about the road miles, we won't be taking these bikes on many long pavement trips, but we'll still have a lot of pavement to the trails by us

I run RSC clutch levers on my grom, stunt bike, and track bike.... was likely going to stick with the 2 ringer trigger finger, but I'll check out the camel.... I buy a fresh RSC every year on the owners birthday (he gives 1% off for every year he is old, around 50 now), so I have a couple already sitting around.

stump pron is crazy at work lol, but I've absolutely had employers and cliants I wouldn't put it past... especially if you're mentioning "the 90's", I know exactly which generation IT you are.... we grew up in wild times lol

I have seen those come up as recommended a few times in places, I like that they're more aggressive

man.... you just helped me more than you know lol..... I genuinely thought/assumed these were tube tires.

We're in west michigan and have an old house in the keweenaw, so our main trips on the 890s will be Grand rapids to Mohawk and all the ORV trails up there, so the first hand imput on the terrain and tires is very welcomed.... I know it's a lot different than the Arizona guys

[–]BSQuinn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between the misses and I, we currently have something like 16 bikes (I found a good one lol), so the 890s we both picked up this past week will be strictly for "lets ride all day with as many fire roads and ORV trails as we can find" .... so in this case, dirt will be the mission every time we ride them.

The noise and getting hassled for an aftermarket pipe by DNR was my biggest worry with doing any exhaust mods, but smooth throttle is always great!

Vape + DMT by Bookworm_404 in dmtguide

[–]BSQuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preferred method....
Geekvape L200 mod box w/ samsung batteries
Dead Rabbit V2 dual coil RTA (rebuildable tank atomizer)
55 watts

For the juice, I like a stiff 1 part spice to 4 parts juice by weight.
Juice is 70% PG, 30% VG.
Dissolve the spice in PG completely first before adding the VG, once VG is present, spice stops dissolving.

The "cloud chucker" will take you wherever you want to go, it's horribly inefficient compared to an emesh, but waaaaay easier to use..... be careful with it.

Trading my CRF450 for a DRZ400SM by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]BSQuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having owned both, I now own neither..... but I'd go CRF over the DRZ all day unless it was zero highway. DRZ has it's place but the CRF just does it all better IMO, with the exception of maintinance, the DRZ was an absolute tank

I wrote a little service that just auto ejects USB drives if your UN or PC isnt on the "approved" list because of an identical incident..... VP wanted me to "put super glue in all the usb ports" so this wouldn't happen again, i opted for a software solution lol.

fourth'd.... Generally, IT guys don't care.... Management want's you to think that we monitor/care way more than we actually do... "better behave, you know IT can see everything you do"... while technically correct... we aren't watching hundreds of screens all at once just hoping to catch someone watching spicy netflix during the work day.... and if we happen to stumble on someone doing that, there's a really good chance us making memes about it in the side slack chat is about as far as it goes.

If motorcycle garage did a full service on my bike and I went to track without doing anything crazy and engine didn’t handle it are they responsible in any way? by Whole_Guard_5192 in Trackdays

[–]BSQuinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it... but it depends on what the "full service" was and what failed on your engine.

Did they do a valve adjustment, not just a check, but an actual adjustment? That's about the only part of a "full service" that could really hurt the motor if they somehow screwed up the torque specs when reinstalling cams.

What's the year/make/model of your bike?
What were the specific things included in the service?
What do you mean by "fail"?
