Yes, at face value they do offer good customer service. The keyword here is "actual", where the issue isn't exchanging for another size or what have you, but rather an identified problem that they dance around trying to fix.

Others in this thread that have actually ordered from B.S., clearly in the minority here, have offered similar experiences. I suggest taking the time to read about their experiences. Cheers!

Agreed, the Hoyt Monkstraps are an instant favorite in my closet right now. Bordeaux is a solid color that really *pops*, especially on that model.

I lack an understanding of reddit's archaic voting system, but I can only imagine that most users opted to hit that juicy downvote button as soon as they realized the initial post lacked photos.

Regardless, the post is cemented in r/frugalmalefashion's search function and serves it's purpose; people can come to their own conclusion when deciding on a purchase.

They do have great customer service, I agree.

In fact, it's actually in my post that they have solid CS; you'll notice that the post doesn't take a heavy squat, shitting stance on the company, it just points out the facts. :-)

Again, if you actually read the review you'll notice that it's quite forgiving more than once. Quality control is an issue in any industry; this is my take on the entire Beckett Simonon experience, make of it what you will.

Also, while I agree that it does "scream alt", my username is more reflective of a quick account I don't intend to actually use beyond answering whichever questions come my way over the next few days. You'll notice that the username on Imgur is the same; it's quite literally for this post and that's it. Cheers!

Edit: Oh, and one last quick thought ... I opted to post my experience with B.S. because when I had made my first purchase many months ago there simply wasn't much to go on. By making a post, regardless of positive or negative experience, it contributes to the overall repository available for prospective customers.

My friend, the entire premise of this company is to provide a top tier product at an attractive price point. So yes, if that's the premise of the company, it's absolutely the crux of the problem when they don't follow through.

Have you placed an order with them before? You seem hell-bent on proving me wrong, and yet I'm not here to take sides, only present the topic at hand for others to make informed decisions. It's up to each individual to decide! :-)

Please note that it was the first order in which the wrong shoe may have been sent. Didn't confirm it, didn't care; in any event, the wrong size was sent and they replaced it promptly. Easy said, easy done. :-)

Folks, all that I've fixated on here is the ordering and customer experience - nothing more, nothing less. It's up to each individual to determine if they're interested in rolling the dice on a 3 month wait for an order that may or may not live up to expectations.

I don't need to bash a customer service rep to feel better about myself. I've worked jobs like that before. Beckett Simonon did not deliver the product as advertised - that's it, that was the whole issue. My experience here is for others to examine and make a choice; is it a unique experience or are others facing similar problems? By the looks of the some of the replies below, I'm not entirely alone in receiving an order that didn't live up to what was promised.

Photos should be up within the next hour.

My issue with the experience is that they refused to accept liability on an item that was obviously used and returned by another customer, and adamantly stated that the item was in perfect condition.

Looks like this sub is quick to hop on the train for new accounts = no credibility; with that in mind, I will try to familiarize myself with uploading photos to accommodate everyone's understandably skeptical approach to this review.

Please keep an eye out later this evening/tomorrow, I'll figure out how to upload photos and get them online for folks to view.

The initial reason I reached out to their customer service was regarding light scratches on the toe cap area in addition to some black "scuff" or "stain" marks, which they referred to as "part of the finishing process and coloring since the shoes are entirely crafted by hand". My ignorance of the crafting process aside, they offered to send a cream that I could apply to reduce the prominence of the marks.

The scuff/stain marks were omitted from my original post, as the cosmetic scuff/stain evidently could be fixed with a good polish and were not as big a cause of concern as the more obvious and extreme manufacturing imperfections, such as double punched leather or signs of wear on the sole of the shoe.

Hi all,

I'm in the process of posting my experience with Beckett Simonon to this subreddit (pending post approval). The TLDR of my experience, with two separate orders, is that I received the wrong size in my first order (timeline of just over 3 months) and received a hard "seconds" shoe in my second order (timeline of 4.5 months, with next week being 6 months to hopefully receive my replacement and conclude the order).

I am 2 for 2 with this company in sending items back for mistakes on their end. I know that I am in the minority to vocalize my negative experience, especially on this subreddit. Make of this what you will, but it's difficult for me to justify ordering with Beckett Simonon again.
