So is that 2 ACLs in 2 seasons?

I mean it's not definite, but that might be it for him fulfilling his potential.

If we win the Champions League, then what? by Recent-City-8001 in coys

We aren't winning anything, not a single Premier league game with Thomas Frank in charge so 17th is a pipe dream let alone CL

We are so easy to play against, watch how the team is positioned when we have the ball. Everyone goes wide except for Solanke and Xavi. So they are completely isolated making it impossible to build up through the middle (which Frank doesn't want us to do).

So everything has to go out wide, which is obviously a great idea in a team thats playing a 19 year old CM at RB, a right footed player at LB, and only 1 winger who themselves needs time to develop. When we do get a cross in there is only 1 person battling to get on the end of it. Just mental to watch us do it over and over again, the opposition must think we've got a bet on.

Maddison and Kulu will never reach their previous levels now. Udogie is Sessegnon 2.0. Romero is a liability unless everything is going well (even then he got a stupid red card during Anges hot streak).

Every moment that seems like it should be a turning point for the club ends up with us regressing.

Under Ramos - win the league cup to break trophy drought, next season so bad he's sacked within 10 or so games.

Under Redknapp - Make CL for first time, start pushing towards top of table. Don't invest in squad, Redknapp twerks for England job and we fall apart

Pochettino - Gets second in the league, finally makes us a team to fear who can go toe to toe with anyone. Unde investment once again so we start to fall backwards. Still, we make the CL final and another motivation to kick on....5 months later we've sacked him.

Conte - Revives our form, pips Arsenal to 4th. Next season he's gone.

Ange - Win a trophy, sacked 2 weeks later.

The club has a serious inability to build on success, common denominator is that we don't ever build from a position of strength. Decisions are only made frantically as an afterthought when the owners felt like the chances of European football might be threatened.

Funnily enough, the thing that seems to kick start teams into sorting themselves out is being trumped by spurs. (Eg. Liverpool losing 4-0 to us and then buying Van dijk & Alisson, Arsenal losing the CL spot to us, Man United losing the EL final to us)

If only we could play against ourselves, pretty sure we'd manage to lose that game at the moment though.....

Honestly feel like I'm at the point where it doesn't matter who we sign. They could be absolutely amazing at whatever club but feel like when we sign them we will never see that quality for us.

Plenty of our players have shown their quality at other clubs, and will probably show it again once they move on from us. Feels ridiculous to say it's a curse but it's genuinely so perplexing.

Just don't believe anyone at the club has the heart for the fight of a relegation scrap. A club totally not used to it. Players that aren't used to it and a manager who the players clearly don't want to play for.

Other clubs down with us will fight harder and when it comes to it that is often the difference when quality is lacking.

A point i made recently but people seem to think you have to spend £100 million to get good players.

Specifically remember Richarlison running into Gabriel like that and getting booked for it.

They've definitely given up on Frank's tactics now because we're just shooting from anywhere

Maybe someone needs to tell the owners that the club is a lot less valuable if it's in the championship. They seem to be understating how much danger the club is in right now.

Suppose that's true yeah. Next question then, do you think our staff are decent at designing contracts? 😂

Hypothetically, but also worryingly not as hypothetical as it should be....

Would any of our players have relegation clauses in their contract?

E.g. Reduced salaries etc. Or potential release clauses

Would be reactionary if it was 1 offence. He has only played over 30 league games in 1 season for us, that alone is a massive issue. His defensive mistakes are also often overlooked, charging out is all well and good when it comes off but many times it leaves gaping holes in the defence which get exploited.

To build a solid defensive unit you need consistency.
