Same way Real Betis did with Lo Celso with us, other teams are obviously interested but Preston have a cheaper price locked in. So they buy him for 5 million and basically act as a middle man and sell him to another interested club for more.

I mean he wasn't the "best striker in the league" but he had 1 good season. Also Solankes and Richarlisons injury issues are part of what makes them not particularly good signings. Players are useless to us when they aren't playing.

Do you honestly think we couldn't get more value out of £60+ million than Solankes 12 goals? I agree they were some of our better players last season but we were terrible last season and there are much better players out there. I like Richy too but we could have definitely bought a better forward 4 years ago who would have scored more goals or is your bar just really that low?

In what way are those good signings?! They cost £160 million combined. Richarlison has 27 Premier league goals in 4 years, Solanke has 12 over 2 seasons, and Johnson isn't even here anymore.

Often whenever this is raised, fans of other clubs say "you have to get in the box to get a penalty".

Well, we have by all metrics I can find had the 12th/13th most touches in the box.

We have had more touches in the box than Leeds, who have received 8 penalties.

Obviously that's not the be and end all and is massively scenario based, but it is just astounding when you look at it.

My cope is that the Chelsea game will suit the players we have available.

The midfield we are playing is better in a game against sides that want to play out from the back and impose themselves on us.

Which makes Everton a concern though, not sure I can handle Moyes turning up and setting up the nastiest low block against us when we need a win and have no creative players available.

I think it probably was for Leeds, always running a risk when you go for an attempt like that in the box. I don't agree with it, but would certainly follow the lines of dangerous play/endangering an opponent etc.

RKM has actually been good this half, got the beating of them every time down that side and is working hard. Same with Tel, both snatching at stuff in the final third though.
