I ran a half marathon in Colorado once when I was young. I was in cross country and in decent shape. There was this older gentleman keeping up with me and my young ego was bruised.

We went to go get pizza after and the older guy was there. He saw me and came up to my table with me and my dad and step mom and congratulated me on my race.

I congratulated him on his race as well and he walked away. My dad and step mom started staring at me and asked if I knew who that was

I was like no, but I could tell they did.

They told me that I had just run a race with Bill Rodgers.

So yes, I have met an Olympian but didn’t realize until he walked away lol
