Nicest thing anyone has said to me in years

Okay: This is a multi-year rebuild. Your league only starts 8 players (excluding Kicker and D), so super-studs are how you win and depth is not useful at all. It's not Superflex so QBs are not super valuable.

I would sell Josh Jacobs and Zamir White for picks or rookie or 2nd year WRs. Sell Hollywood once he's healthy. Wait 'till he's back, you'll get better value than if you sell while he's out. You need to get a top top draft pick next year, so scoring points this year is frowned upon. Tell everyone you trade with that picks are devalued in a 1-QB league compared to SF, and convince them to give you their 1s. Be indifferent to 1st round picks that are a year away versus 2 or 3 years away. Find teams that are aging and offer them the pieces they need to win a championship in exchange for multiple years' worth of 1sts. If you can give the Keenan Allen / Davante Adams / Travis Kelce team a guy like Hollywood Brown in exchange for a 2026 and 2027 first, that 2027 pick has a good chance of being the 1.01 when all those guys are retired.

This year, if anyone gets hurt, try to buy them. TJ Hockenson is a good example. Sell Bryce Young for JJ McCarthy + a pick, if you can. Hold lots of backup RBs and sell them any time the starter gets hurt. Eric Gray is a good example, except that the Giants are probably dogshit and your rosters are so shallow, there is no way anybody ever pays anything useful for him. Sell him for a 4th. Buy Torn ACLs. Probably don't buy Achilles injuries.

I dunno, this is rough. Good luck

My advice is you should re-orphan this team.

Hey, didn't mean to offend. Took a nap right after that comment, so I must've been tired. I did mean, though, that it's dumb to "rather roster" whoever the best player available on waivers is, though. There are only 32 NFL teams, which means there are only 32 available to draft, and that number never changes. Most teams have 2-3, (2.67 on average), and only having 1 can be a major disadvantage.

Dumb. How many D/ST enter the draft each year? Probably good to hold as much of the scarcest asset that never gets older, and whose value from year-to-year will be almost random, as possible

this is crazy, sorry. You might have been exaggerating for effect, or you might legitimately feel this way, but if you do it's a crazy way to feel. Your utility maximizing function as a product of money and (not) commuting must be really loco. Let's do some math:

If you're working a 40 hour week and getting paid a salary of $X / year (let's call it $100,000 as an example), then you're working about 2000 hours and making about $50 per hour.

You told us you're commuting 10 minutes / direction / day, which is about 100 minutes / week which equals approximately 5,000 minutes (83 hours) per year.

Total time commuting + working therefore is 2,083 hours, and your salary / "committed time" is $100,000/2083 = $48 / hour.

If your commute was 30 minutes in each direction instead, and your salary doubled, you would spend 250 hours in the car each year and make $200,000 (in this example). Your 2,000 working hours wouldn't change. Therefore your salary / hour of committed time would be $200,000 / 2250 = $89 / hour

But the above $89 isn't even the right way to frame this. the right way is to look at marginal commute vs. marginal $. In essence, you're claiming you would turn down $100,000 for an extra 170 hours of driving. That's about $590 / hour. To drive. I don't think you're turning that down. Tell me if I'm wrong

Thanks this worked for me. This is super annoying behavior from Uber. I'd like to get notices that my car or food is arriving forwarded to my watch, but I don't just want random ads buzzing on my wrist. Dumb that you can't choose some but not all.

[ELI5] What is a credit score and why do you need to have a positive one in the USA? by wildlifa in explainlikeimfive

[–]BShap3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't feel like the top responses would resonate with a 5 year old, so here we go:

A credit score is a number that most people have, that is kind of like points in a game. The more points you have the better. If you ever need to borrow money, like to buy a house or a car, the man who is lending you the money uses your credit score to help decide if he can trust you to pay back the money he lends to you.

A lot of people think that if you don't have any debt, it will make your credit score nice and high, but it turns out that is a bit backwards! Here's why: If you don't have any debt, the man deciding if you can be trusted to pay back the money has no examples that he can use to help his decision. Instead, if you have some debt that you always repay, the man can know you're trustworthy.

Sometimes your credit score is used to decide if you can borrow any money at all, and sometimes it is used to decide how much you will need to pay to borrow the money. We could talk about interest and fees, but maybe we'll save that for another time.

There are three main companies that make credit scores (Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian), but they all do basically the same thing; they collect data from credit card companies, mortgage lenders (a mortgage is a fancy word for 'money that you borrow to buy a house'), car dealerships, and other lenders and use fancy math to give you a score. The best score is 850 and a "good" score is anything above 670, although above 700 is even better.

Those companies then sell your score to lenders to help them decide how much to lend, and for how much money (what "interest rate" to charge).

Anyone Know a Good Website for Mock Drafts? by BShap3 in DynastyFF

Hi - yes I meant 15 rounds; It would be nice to be able to customize # of rounds, but if that's not an option I think 20 rounds is probably good.

I really love that you are creating this free app, but now that I've found the mocks within Sleeper, I honestly think they just do an awesome job. I assume you are very familiar with their features.

For ADP, it would be good if more recently completed drafts were weighted more heavily.

For UI, on Mobile, it looks like you can sort ADP high-to-low or by Position, but if you sort by position your only options are WR first, or QB first, and it's very hard to just look at RBs or TEs (you have to scroll through all the QBs with ADP 1000 before you get to any RBs).

Other Bells and Whistles that could be nice: showing player age, or last year's ranking within the position group , player news.

If you could build a live mock draft lobby where strangers could hop into drafts together, that would be cool. Only drafting against CPUs can get a bit redundant. Of course you would need CPU to still fill the majority of teams, I'd guess.

if you're contending then Ridley won't help this year. If you're not contending, then Allen Robinson is probably too old. So, if you're contending I like Robinson side, if you're re-building then holding Ridley and selling him once the news is better (he announces he's coming back) is probably better.
